I'm tired of my HPM-70 wire (cable), the cable went hard coz of the oil coming from our skin, so, I cut it off from the original cable & soldered it into a new (normal) earphone cable. I've done, if I may say, a neat job with the 3.5mm audio jack! Thanks to rabvtec!  :) My 3.5mm jack mod removes the mic function though! But it is still recognizable as a handsfree by the phone! The radio is also useable!

I'm still planning to make a mini usb mod, planted within the midplate! Still thinking of the perfect place with enough space to plant the mini usb port!

Anyways here some pictures of my new 3.5mm (fastport) jack mod and the HPM-70 earphone!

NOTE: the HPM70 mod is just a simple -/+ connection on both left & right channel!

It's more fun to DIY. Although, I did go and buy one off eBay
I would like to do your HPM 70 mod, but I need a black wire with a straight plug like iPod headphones.

Oh silly me! I could just use the original plug from the HPM 70 and put Heat-Shrink over the soldered connection.
I think Heat-Shrink is the name

Not really sure about the wattage! It's just a normal (average) soldering pen! It's a matter of hand control! (don't know the right term)

Come on! Just look on your soldering tool. It tells you the number of watts.

Easy!

Thanks. That's why I ask you about the soldering. I don't want to damage the thing. :p
