Hmm. Get a w580i, or a w910. both have shake it sensor, which is really great feature.. w910 have walkman palyer 3 and Sense me (:D). But w580 have bad keyboard, it is great phone.. but on loud repro it screwed the voice so much..

w810 is great phone, but today its display is old (qvga is todays standart)..

So, GET A W910I :p (or that key-o-broke w580 :p)

Oh, first who voted in da poll :-D

The Serenata's speaker is meant to be about the best available on a mobile phone - but that's similar to being declared the nicest flesh-eating virus to contract.
As for the i450, I can't comment on that particular model but it must be very different to the majority of Samsung phones which are just utterly incapable when it comes to music.

Again, I can't comment on the N91 directly but everything I've read about the current N-series models suggest that they're on a par with it and they have the great advantage of not using a Microdrive, which are very unreliable.

But the sad fact of the matter is that even the best music-phone will be woefully lacking in comparison to a halfway-decent DAP.
Companies just won't produce decent convergence devices, it isn't as profitable :(

How about the playlists that are limited to 30 tracks that all have to be in the same folder?
Or the fact they don't support memory cards greater than 2GB?
Or the fact that some phones randomly refuse to play more than one file from a memory card in a row?

Samsungs are bad when it comes to acting as a music player.
And I'm not saying that from a pro-SE viewpoint, I personally find all phone to be lacking when it comes their media player sides but my experience with Samsungs have been particularly shocking.

Seems like walkman phones r lacking of good audio quality and samsung isn't that good with media player....but i say if we judge from both sides walkman phones can surely surpass any samsung.

i've just added 40 songs to a playlist on my u600, so the first statement is false. playlist size and quantity are both unlimited.
someone on MR used a 4GB memory card with his g600, so the 2nd statement is false.
3rd statement is false, at least for the u600.

when you read the reviews, you will discover that there are no sony ericssons which can come close to the best samsungs, neither in sound quality nor in media player capabilities.
have a read of the capabilities and quality of the seranata, for example, here:

Quote

The bottom line is as follows: in terms of sound quality the Serenata trumps all today’s music phones. As you probably know, up until this moment my favorite, as far as music goes, was the Nokia N91, but now there is the new king to hail. The Serenata offers higher volume, clearer lows, and while we could blame it a little for the way it reproduces mids, you won’t really notice these minor glitches – you just end up listening to your favorite tunesб following the tempo and nodding. The handset also employs the state-of-art Bang&Olufsen IcePower sound amplifier, which is embedded in other Samsung-branded solutions as well, but the Serenata is so much different from them thanks to its high volume with no distortions at the peaks. For many of our readers, this parameter is on top of their priority lists, and to tell the truth, it is not of least importance for me either, especially when I get decent quality along with high volume.

walkmans are old hat nowadays.

Well on my G600 they all are, infact the music player is quite good, and sound quality is amazing, honestly.

You have no idea how much i hate to say this, but you are so right. My G600 is bloomin' loud especially since i changed all the values on the test menu thing :D

But i think the iPhone is a good music phone, just Apple have made it crippled, with a rubish speaker, no visulisations and lots more.
Also i think W980i will be the king of music :D

Well, if they've fixed the poor playlist support then that's a good thing.

But for the other points you'll have to colour me 'unconvinced'.
However since I'm not trying to start an argument, it's probably best just to leave it at that.

A much more section of the Seranata review, IMO, is this:

Quote

If we are to compare the Serenata with stand-alone players, the matters take an interesting twist – it can well replace most players available on the market, especially if you get a little bit more picky in the sense of bitrate. Naturally, Cowon’s and Sony’s (the A-series) offerings deliver better sonic experience, but the Serenata isn’t all that far behind, on the contrary, it is right on their heels.
This is, in many ways, a much more useful comparison than commenting on it versus other phones as it's still separate DAPs that set the bar when it comes to usability and sound quality.

I voted for the W910i just because it has a full Walkman feature set, plus heaps of bonus extras that make listening to music that little bit better. The sound quality through the headphones is just fine. I don't think we can expect good quality through the speaker on any phone just yet! And 'Walkman' does not mean a good speaker. Think about the real Sony ones, they don't even have a speaker!

Now even though I say all this about the W910i (which I have BTW), I'll still take my iPod or my Sony Walkman any day. Now those produce quality sound!

A phone just can't compare at the moment.

For me, the w880 is the best, it's slim, has a good sound in headsets even without modded PHF's.

But since there is no w880 option in this poll, I'll just say my opinion, and vote for other
