Sony Ericsson will be releasing a new version of the W800 named the W810. The new handset will have the same specifications as the W800, but there may be less internal memory, perhaps as low as 15 Mb. The W810 will use a new version of syncML. There will be no inline remote like the W900.

The W810 will feature a new keypad design as well as a new design for its softkeys. The softkeys include an activity menu button, which isn't present on the W800.

The W810 should be released in Q1.

For more pictures of the W810 click here.

some? i think 3/4-9/10 of all sony ericsson owners will be very pleased about that if they are thinking of buying the above.

it looks like the w810 is a budget w800. i wonder if the compatible memory sticks will be budget too.

i don't see the point of a budget w800i...now that it's on payandgo...and you know the price will fall as the months roll on....bit backwards if you ask me...

Why dou you think w810 is a budget w800? It has almost the same functions, and the ones that they took out were replaced by other good things

it was "suggested" that it "could" be a budget w800...and theres no particular proof that it isn't is there? what doesn't help is the "suggested" smaller internal memory...less than the w800's...and of course...the name "w810" gives some weight to either an upgrade or a budget version.... :good:

correct, there's no evidence to suggest that its a budget version.....but the brief description hinted at it. whether it is or not will be revealed this evening.

There are a couple of features that justify the +10. Stay tuned to the site and we'll reveal all in a few hours. :) I can tell you that the back looks very cool. :D I like it.

Probably not my next phone, although I'm starting to think that I'll change my K750i to look like it as and when it's possible. If it's possible that is..

you might need a new PCB, and a definate software flash, but that should be fine :)

the W810 is based on the same K750 chassis :)

It looks fantastic I think, a very nice design indeed. I will be interested to see some more details.

Well you can just make out MemoryStick Duo on the side so they are the same format as usual

I don't want it since my K750i will only be one year old in mid-June, and I can't justify spending another $500 for a minor upgrade. But I would love to swap out the covers. I do like the newer look. Less silver, mostly black.
