OK folks, a quick note about commercial spam topics (you know the ones..$£$£ WE SELL [huge list of phones] FOR LESS $$$£££$$$)

If you see such a topic the only necessary action is to click the Report button, once.
There is a new trend starting where certain member are posting repeatedly in such topics in what I can only imagine is yet another shameful attempt to increase their post count! This is just as much spam as the thread ;)

There's not really any need to keep posting in these spam threads and in fact all that does is keep bumping it to the top of the new posts list. A better action is to simply report the topic and ignore it.

Thanks,

Mik

OK, for YOUR information, I CAN NOT (did you see the NOT) delete such topics, I do not have permissions to these sections (The scammers never post in the FW section)... So stop with all your "Why you don't delete it, you're a mod" - stuff...

Ive already said this but nobody replied :(
Why dont you set a limit of posting in the market section as out of bounds untill the user has over 15 posts

That wouldn't make any difference as the threads in question aren't in the marketplace.

Just to clarify, me and Mr. T can only delete threads/edit posts in the firmware section, only super mods can moderate all sections of the forum. Therefore, only Mik and Super Mods can deal with any spam topics in the markets section.

Hope that clears things up a bit!

@ weirdwilli

Thanks for your input and it is a good idea that would prevent such posts being created in the market but the problem is that they are not always in the market section, they are created in all different sections so it unfortunately wouldn't prevent them from being posted on se-nse. :(
The user who created one in the market this morning also made another elsewhere.

Well, if everyone just follows the instructions that Mik has laid out, the stupid spammers will be dealt with quickly and with minimal fuss.

To be honest I don't think a confirmation screen will stop spammers but it will certainly annoy all other users who just want to make normal posts ;)

i think its time for people to realise this 2 things;
dont care about your post count its only to show how active you are nor how smart!
the seteam(if i may call you that way) are verry generous because they could have made this a private forum or ask you money.
so stop asking more from them, be happy with what you have!!!

btw if someone has a small thing to aks he(or she) has to open a new thread but if this is becomes a succes that problem is solved....
if a mod can start a new one and pinn it, it would be nice :) (only if you want :p)

@lawrencep93

actually....that's because se-nse has so many members and scores of posts everyday, so its not practically possible for the mods to keep a tab on everything always.....

It is also that not all of the current moderators are as active as the others. Much of the time it depends on who is online as to how quickly things are done. Remember that all moderators have other things to be doing too, moderating se-nse is not any of our full-time jobs.

@ lawrence

anything will appear to be slow if you sit watching the page and constantly refreshing and waiting for another excuse to post ;)

Quite correct Mik, most stuff gets removed within 20 mins or so on here, I always view an entry on the "today's top 10 posters" as being a negative thing anyway, quality over quantity IMO!!
If you don't want me to highlight the fact your an idiot, then please refrain from posting anything stupid!
