Yes, its possible to have free wap. I know 2 ways:

1º Via network bugs.
For example, here in Brazil until june 2006 we could access free wap from service provider CLARO just by changing the CSD number from *600 to *640. This is not possible anymore.
And until october 2007 we could access free wap from service provider VIVO (CDMA phones only) just by changing the signal from"1x" to "D". This is not working anymore.

2º Via toll-free numbers.
Now some people here try to connect to WAP via "toll free" numbers.
When writing the CSD number they write specific "0800" numbers.
I know 3 of them but just one with user and password. I dont know if they work for other countries but for Brazil they work.

There are no "codes" for you to type in. Do you know when do you call for some assistance and you dont pay for? its the same, but the number takes you to a modem and you have free internet. The same work for normal modem computers, but you are using your cellphone as the computer.

T-mobile and Orange are capped at £1 a day for GPRS - that seems quite good - also some cheaper 5 day options I think...

Yes, but you need a Toll free number. The numbers which you dont pay for, for example, here in brazil we have free ISPs but only the ISP are free, you still must pay the call. The numbers which im talking about you can call from any public phones or mobile phones without any credits.

ps. pricing by KB is GPRS mode, im talking about CSD. In this one you make a call and connect thru internet.

In pakistan, telenor's offering 15RS Per MB (Remember 61RS=1$).. But I'm not happy with it!!!

n 2nd, Warid Telecom is offering Unlimited WAP transfer @ 4000RS Per month!!! (including free Warid-to-Warid calls)..

Now thats more like it!!!!!!!!!
