I thought that I had broke my phone when I dropped it in water, but I dismantled it (all cards out and battery, not more) and let it dry for 5 days. To my suprise it still worked when I put it back together (hooray) but my joy wasn't complete. I might have broke the spring that locks the Memorystick duo in the phone. I Can still put the card in the phone but i wont lock.

Have anyone else had this problem? Any if they had, how did you fix it?
I have emailed SE but they just replied with a standard from on how sad they are that I am dissapointed with the phone (although I put in my email that I wasn't)

I hope I put this thread in the right section. :) :newhere:

It may be possible that it has just come off at one attachment rather than broken totally so you could maybe re-attach it but you'd need to open the phone up to find out

Thats just the thing, if it just has unhooked in some way inside the phone, I can't open it without breaking the warranty. I've looked at the thread here (which is the one that got me on to the forum) when a guy totally dismantled his K750i and turned it into a W800i, the problem there is I dont see any picture of any hook or spring of some kind where the memorycard is supposed to be.

I gotto go to work now, I hope you might have better eyes than me and can check the thread if you know how it looks like or sees it right away.

Regards. Mikael

Well you could try taking it back to the shop or to a service station for warranty repair but they will notice it has been under water and blame any faults on that.
There is a small tab inside with ink on which runs when wet so they can tell if the phone has been in water, unfortunately water damage is often used as a get out clause to evade warranty repairs by electronics manufacturers

Whaat? Ink? Where? For real.. that sounds pretty bad for my chances of just saying "I dont know what you are saying" when they as if its been in the water.
Yeah, I want to take it to the shop and make them fix the memorystick problem but the problem is that I ordered it off the web and that forces me to send them the phone, so they can send it to SE and that process is far from quick.
Do you think I should attempt to open the phone and try to "rehook" the spring if that is the problem?

Well I have not taken a K750 apart myself but in the P-Series there is a little red and white striped tab stuck to the circuit board. If this gets at all wet the red ink runs into the white areas and the stripes are lost. Ths tab is present for exactly this purpose and it is it's only function ;)

Its a clever invention I must say, but too bad for _honest_ people as myself that just want another fault fixed, because my phone works after I dropped it in water, it was totally submerged for atleast 10seconds so if there is such a ink-tab in the phone I am sure that it has activated itself.

Looks like I have to either take it apart or buy a new one... Neither is good.

Well you could try taking it in for warranty repair anyway, they might not bother. They can only say no at worst ;)
