I'm starting to get the hang of all this firmware stuff, but I still have a few things that I'm unsure of.

1. I don't listen to music on my w580, so I'm looking for the best acoustics for general calling. I'm currently using Peter's v2 W880 acoustics DRC off with W880 Extreme Farfields. The volume of calls have dramatically improved with these acoustics (), but I'm still looking for something clearer. I've been under the impression that Peter's acoustics are the best there is, so I'm wondering if I'm just not using the best settings?

2. Also, Whenever I play a sound (front speakers), there seems to be a small static in the background. Is this normal?

3. This is probably a stupid question, but does the equalizer in the walkman affect general sounds including calls?

4. Would applying patches wipe the games/apps on my phone? If so, how can I backup the saves for the games?

5. Is there a way to remove the "Sony Ericsson" (with a globe icon) links in the menus?

6. Is there any way to "crack" protected themes (.dm)? I know that these theme makers don't want their work stolen, but I would just like to use them with flash menus/standbys.

1.Peter's acoustics are the best out there... If you want call clarity, maybe you can try his other versions and mix and match to your preference.
2. The static might be due to the noise in the mp3. if you have the original fairfield_play acoustic you can put it on and try to identify the cause.
3. No. equalizer only affects the walkman sound as far as i know.
4. Applying patches do not wipe games or other files. But be careful on what you apply. Generally apply only those that are tested and for the firmware(Read MAIN) that's in your phone.
5. The menu shortcuts can be edited and can even be made to open jar files for example you can use a menu icon to open Opera Mini.... there's a tuorial on how to do it somewhere here... if you cant find it let me know. And ofcourse you can change the menu icons also.
6. Even I would like to know that too......
