Hi,
I have a w810i, RED, db2010, CID 49, R4EA031/R4ED001.
I want to upload acoustic files (tvh_v8) found in an acoustic tweaking thread (I want to get rid of the hiss):
http://forums.se-nse...p...1580&st=700
I have XS++ v3.1 (Darwin).
I backed up my GDFS successfully.
I can use the FSX mode of XS++ to navigate inside the phone's filesystem. I see the files that need to be replaced.
I want to backup my phone's original files before I start overwriting them.
Unfortunately, the "download" button is inactive. Apparently that feature is not yet enabled in XS++.
How can I copy files found inside the FS of my phone to my computer? Either individual files or an entire backup?
The only option I have found is using FARManager... not really convenient. Are there any other options for my phone?
Thanks.

Ciggy.
I guess I will overwrite files without backing them up first... I dont want to overwrite my Main just to get SEFP going. (I don't understand why the XS++ dev team seem to think that the "download" function isn't useful! Getting FARManager to work is a PITA!)
Can you confirm that these steps should work for me?
1. Connect to the phone with XS++
2. Switch to FSX mode.
3. Upload/overwrite files in the acoustic directory. (PHF_*_play.apf are the only files affecting playback in the headphones, right? Everything else should affect ringer volume, speaker, earpiece, bluetooth, etc... right?)
4- Shutdown FSX mode and disconnect XS++.
5- Disconnect phone, reboot phone and enjoy beautiful virtually hiss free MP3 playback.
Thanks a lot for your help.

yup you've got the steps all clear. PHF's are for headset, Farfield's are for back speaker. but i keep most original drivers before i change them (i have no idea why because it's not like i'm going to ever use them again)

Thanks Ciggy. I just uploaded TVH_v8's PHF files to my phone.
I finally can enjoy audio playback.
It is a real shame that SonyEricsson completely dropped the ball in recent firmwares. I love everything about the w810 so far except that I had to work so hard to get decent audio playback. (I specifically bought an unbranded and unlocked phone so I wouldn't have to get my hands dirty hacking it... that didn't work out as planned!)
What kind of idiots use the DAC to drive the output gain? At low volumes (before I patched it), there was so much aliasing in the sound that my phone sounded like an old 8 bit Nintendo console! :-)
Thanks for your help. Happy holidays.
