Hi..

I need to upgrade my w580i with the latest firmware..

Here is my phone info..

I am not able to d/l this frm topsony eventhough I hv the post counts..So can any1 upload this 4 me???

Alos I need to knw how to upgrade my firmware(Tutorial wil be helpful).

Also wat is cust_pack?? Shuld I need it too??

I do not understand..The first link u hv given points to the firmware I am having in my phone..Also my network is ASIA_LEVAN..

I tried the second link and saw W580_R8BA024_FS_S_ASIA_LEVAN_RED52.rar.

Is this the one I should download since my network has the same name??

Also wat is FS and Main for..

Sorry I am a noob in this..Pls clarify.

PS - Also need a tutorial on how to upgrade the firmware.

Guys..Finally I upgraded my firmware to the latest..But hardly culdn sense any changes..

I hv a qn here..

After flashing I started my phone and got a scrn asking to please wait..After a while got a message unsuccessfull..but my phone worked normal after tht..checked whether the firmware was upgraded and it has..

Need to knw why I got the message please wait and then unsuccessful..Any body frm here knws???

You get the please wait message when the phone installs the customize_upgrade.xml, which your cust pack contains. Though you should not have got the unsuccessful message.. maybe something in the cust pack wasnt for this phone... anyways that should not be a big problem.

And R8 firmware does not have much change from R6.... and personally I feel R6 is better than R8. I found R8 to have some bugs. Use R8 and if you find bugs, switch back to R6.

i can list one major one

for example if you have a custom theme with red lights
as soon as you listen to the Walkman player they turn green(normal)
but when you exit the Walkman player they still stay green(not normal)

i would say rb6 is the best one but choose the one you like most
