i'm looking for a vkp patch to unlock db2020 cid52 w710i... firmware R1JC002 generic-ch MAIN...

anyone capable of producing vkp patch from setool CID-52 patch unlock or cruiser's for this phone ??

who could do that ?

afaik you need the setool3 box version and no free tools can currently patch db2020 phones

anyways you would hear me ask too if i had a db2020 fone that i used,
but by the looks of things there appears a struggle to get free patching for cid 49 out with setool lite (very)
davinci team can patch db2020 and you prolly can with full setool dongle, fk knows, so its here all ready,
i think its 1 of 2 things only,
1- internal politics covering a variety of reasons mainly the fact that the big money makers and the free developers are linked in various ways, you decide how much
2- no-one here has the ability or less likely the inclination/time to code and release a patching engine for anything past cid 36, since the guy who made cid36 patching free now sells patches

i am involved with a few other bits and bobs that involve forums like these, dealing with embedded developement and "liberation" of knowledge,
im forever getting banned here their and everywhere for ridiculing peeps for being the peoples champions, while doing all kinds of toe curling snake like moves when the wonga is flashed @ them. now i dont have a problem with peeps making an earner, especially at the expence of a big multi corp like SE, but i do have a problem with people who take big big ego massages for "releasing a solution" on public forums being peoples champion and then sneekily doing all manner of money making moves at the same time.

one thing i can say though i have yet to find this characteristic in all but one member here, apart from the ghayser who you kind of gotta respect for being without doubt the #1 coder in SEMC and is only half ghay, cos he does earn his dough, but im sure hes a cell fone developement politician, a spin doctor

Thanks for your extensive explanation and evaluation post.
Looks like the 'free' patch scene disappeared because of dollar bills as is regretably more often than none the case these days like f.i. at the gas station where I now even have to pay to get some air into my tires ! bizarre...

I value and honour people that are these days still willing to do something for the benefit of others for free as is often the case here at this forum !

For me and my w710i I will get myself a setool, cruiser, seking or whatever unlock by paying for some logs...
