Hello All

Recently there has been some speculation as to whether SE-NSE would have its own downloads section for firmware files. It is my unfortunate task to inform you that SE-NSE will not have a firmware download section. I apologise to any of you who may have gotten your hopes up.

We really wanted to implement it, but for legal reasons we cannot. I would like to thank gbrooks3, jagheterfredrik and Rekoil for their hard work, their time, their money, and their devotion on this project; it really is appreciated chaps. There isn't much else to say except that I am sorry we couldn't go ahead with this.

Oh well thats a pity but almost all the firmwares that are on top sony are all on the fourms (you just gotta look ) so really i dont mind (could also be because i have topsony acsess)

I dont really mind too, the only people whom will mind, are the lazy ones wich are not bothered to search
all the stuff we need are already here on se-nse or otherplaces like google can help locate them,
all people have to do is search to find files
Why should admins and mods waste their time doing all the lazy people's work

The search button was made for a reason, so people have to learn how to use it

it would have been nice, the sony ericsson update program tells you to tajke off the battery cover, make sure your phone is charged, take out the battery and reinsert it, connect the usb cable while holding down the clear button, and after 30 seconds, the computer will tell you that you have update you're firmware, or yours is already updated which is unfortunate for those with s500's and w580's cuz taking that battery cover of ious, and in my situation, i had to take it off just to find out my w580 had the latest firmware installed

@bluedoggaint why did you not look in the service menu and look there what FW is installed?

I for one don't think we need a FW download section we manage ok as we are not like its THAT hard to find firmware on google or offsite links.

I'd just like to say that to be honest I don't understand whats going on at Sony Ericsson at the moment. First they release loaders that enable us to do stuff like this and then they come and tell us we are not allowed to upload firmware? It's strange.

oh....scots i was waiting for an answer to my pm...but i guess u stumped us all......well....it would have been gr8 if there was a dedicated download section....but its not like we can't live without it....so its ok.....

is no problem for me....but for others it will be ....but if that download section is not legal is good that se-nse don't make this...se-nse shouldn't be closed for this..is too good for this

So, Sony Ericsson didn't give the green light for the firmware download section?
You guys got in touch with SE and asked them?

And what about Topsony?
They are charging for firmwares. Shouldn't they get sued?

Wait wait wait... slow down a second... first off, SE-NSE might get sued/closed for talking about modding etc.? =( NOOOO!!! You guys are like a family to me.. =D And those loaders: Were they released to the public for download, or were they ripped? I really am confused >.<

SE-NSE will continue as it has been, we just won't be offering firmware files for download.

No I said there will NOT be one for firmware. I said there was going to be one for firmware but we weren't allowed for legal reasons. And yes you will be allowed to upload freeware games and apps to the download section once its active. Obviously we can't allow you to upload paid for games as that would be illegal.

Videos would be fine I can add that as a category if you wish, however we already have YouTube functionality built into the forum, you can add YouTube videos to a thread using the [ youtube ] (without spaces) bb-code tag.

Ok cool and for the download section we can also have large tutorials and things like that and maby phone user manuals on hoe to take them apart. I'm just giving ideas of what our members might like.

They could have hard time finding you in "Tajga" which is the biggest forest in the world AFAIK
