R1J002 Jp on V800 or 802se. What will I be able to do?

I am an absolute beginner with this.
I am thinking to buy the V800 and de-brand it, or get an 802se and change the firmware on that.
I want to be able to send and receive the email in Japanese therefore I want to keep the Japanese input intact.
But I can't find out exactly, what the structure of the menu's would be in R1J002 Jp and can't find screen shots that would help me to understand what the firmware allows.
It would be great if I could add Japanese in the address book and calendar etc.
Is anyone here using this firmware with a V800 or 802se and is able to send and receive emails in Japanese?
Does the firmware keep the ability to create POP and IMAP accounts and associate them with a dialup or GPRS connection?
I am looking over at setools too!
Any advice is much appreciated,

I see. Can you tell me what R1J002 Jp would do to a v800 bought from the UK vodafone shop?
I looked for R1J002 Jp at setools but could not find it listed in
http://www.mobile-fi.....ht=list cda's
I heard it allows Japanese input but I can't find screen shots etc on any forum's! Thanks!

Would R1J work on the V800 though?

Are both those handsets 802s or is one of them an 800? Is the one on the left running R1J too?

Where are you using those 802s? How does the Japanese firmware cope with foriegn networks and services?

I'm actually surprised that SE/Vodafone releases the 802 in Japan, or do I have higher expectations of what the Japanese demand from a mobile phone than I should?

thanks for posting those pictures...They are very good! 草花 くさはな!
I just want to check something...
You are using a your 802se outside of Japan with a non-Japanese U-sim?
Can I ask which country?
Can you send and receive an email in Japanese?
I ask because the 802se does not have any way to setup a POP or IMAP account, as the Japanese set up email, in-store, and it is like mms.
Whereas, on a V800, I can receive mms, as well as setup many POP and IMAP accoounts, set a time for automatically downloads etc etc.
So are you sending emails to other mobiles and PC's using Japanese?
I am interested to know, if mail can be sent and received, in Japanese, using a non-Japanese SIM, ie. I want to use an O2 UK sim..
thanks!

I think I got the answer now. If I use the Japanese firmware, I can send and receive sms in Japanese.
Sms, unless, I am mistaken, is sent only to mobile numbers, from either other mobiles or homepages that have sms's as a service.
The mobile can only send an sms to another mobile.
So I am sure it can be sent from non-Japanese to Japanese Vodafone mobiles.
Thanks for patience!

Yes, that is exactly the one. UK V800 can have POP and IMAP email set up.
Then then connections can be associated to an account, i.e.connect using a GPRS connection or a landline ( dial-up )
It is much the same as setting up emaiol in Outlook Express!
