hey all well just as the title and the description says ... i uploaded all the .swf files with XS++ through the brute force method ... and then uploaded the .thm files through the normal method of connecting the phone to the computer ...


however they themes when in use do not have any flash effects ... its just a normal theme with similar color codes to the flash versions .....


any ideas ???

NOTE *** that all .thm files are configure to the approprate .swf files

you sure you sent the .swf files to /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash? if that's not the problem, edit the customize.xml file. go to line 492 i think... you should see <enable-flash-desktop>true</enable-flash-desktop>
and make sure it says true not false. to get your customize.xml file go in your FS and go into /tpa/preset/custom and you will find your customize.xml file.one problem though, the customize.xml file takes effect when the phone is newly flashed or even if you do a master reset, i think. you should just flash the phone to make sure.

um yeah i deff have them uploaded correctly i copy and pasted it exactly the first time and triple checked to make sure ...


however , i did not upload the /custom/customize.xml file , i thought that was extra , and not needed ... does that mean if u just upload that file now that it will work ...

when you flash the phone, and turn it on, it says please wait. this is so because it loads the custpack and the customize.xml is in the custpack. it only loads the info from the customize.xml when the phone is loading the custpack. this only happens when you switch on the phone after a full flash (main fs and custpack). the customize.xml is needed. it contains your phone name, emergency numbers, country, etc. you can enable flash menus by editing the customize.xml as i said in the post above.

does that mean that the phones gonna take a while to load the first time , because i re uploaded the flash files and the customize.xml ... i made sure that the xml had the flash enabled


however the phone runs alot slower the first turn on took forever ... , but it seems to be getting faster every time i turn it on ...


now even with all of this done the phone still fails to run the flash themes correctly .... idk what to even try can someone give me some help ....

if you have a CID49 why on earth are u brute forcing it? flash it so u can use far or use setool2 lite to change the path of your flash dir to usb so u dont need to brute it every time. if u have cid50 then thats another story

don't you have to do a full flash to the phone if you put a new customize.xml? i think you need to do that for it to take effect. and you really should apply the move system files patch if you have a CID 49 w810i.

OH and i saw somewhere that when in far u needed to delete a file that disabled flash menus , is this possibly the case for me ?

don't know anything about that. all i did was a full flash (main + fs and customize) and uploaded the custpack, flash menus etc. and my flash menus work. i think all you have to delete is the folder called drm in the FS where you place the custpack. you must do a full flash then upload the customize.xml file. if you flash the phone, customize it with the flash menus disabled and put on the phone and let it load, then upload the customize.xml to enable flash menus, it would not work. here's my suggestion, do a full flash on your phone, before you put on the phone, upload the customize.xml file with flash menus enabled as well as the custpack and then put on the phone to let the custpack load and try uploading the flash menus after. it should work

ok ill have to try that , what is the custom pack tho , i dont think i did anything with that yet maybe that could be a reason why its not working ....


but if the order of uploading is important ill try and do it exactly the way you said ...


i really cant do it with FAR , ive tried tons of times and it never works properly , the patches ect dont work ....

if someone wants to compile their FAR folder and upload it so that i can use it right from that, that would be very helpful ... just make sure its a working folder that far has worked before



also when you say FULL flash .... what does that mean , like you said u flashed the FS , i read in a bunch of places that doing that is very dangerous and u only need to flash the main ... what is your thoughts on that

EchoFox: I have the same problem as you lol... except I've had Flash Menus until the recent re-de-brand I did today. But, when they say a Full Flash, they usually mean Debrand. IE, Flash a Main, FS, and Custpack. I would recommend using XS++2.0 for this. No matter what people tell you, Flashing is not really dangerous. Just make sure you use the right files, and have 100% battery, as well as you don't cancel anything during the flash. Also, to clear things up, if you're not experience with FAR + SEFP, XS++2.0 only takes about 10-15 minutes now thanks to the new csloaders, so XS++ is really actually safer than FAR.

yes but unfortunatly you can only upload through bruteforce with XS++ ... right ?


um i would rather not debrand the phone ... but i still dont know what the custpack is , i mean is that something i should be putting on my phone ...


i mean some ppl can get it working the first time and others take forever to get all the settings right ....


yeah XS++ has always been safier than FAR in my opinion , cause on my first phone i used far and i got a error mid way that killed my phone ... so im not using far again unless ABSOLUTLY POSITIVELY NESS

ok i read you guide wally dog and that helps alot , i sorta understand what various things are ....


but im still immensely lost in what i need to do , also when i load up X++ v2.0 its much different , how so , like what does all of the buttens mean and stuff ( the ones different then v1.2


also , is breakin method bad for your phone ... i mean if its far superior in speed was do people do bruteforce , like is there some downside to breakin methods ?


also is there a way to save your sucessful bruteforce results , such as the username and password , or w.e the equivilent is for phones ... that way only the first bruteforce will take a long time then every one past that will be substancially shorter if not instantly .


sorry for all the random questions and comments , im just trying to learn as much as possible and get this working on my phone without killing it ..............again

No, we can also upload files with setool2 lite. It's simple and fast.

the custpack is put in /tpa/preset/custom. if your flash menus were disabled in the customize.xml file you have to flash the FS and put the customize.xml file (with flash menus enabled) back in here as well as your language pack. what FS do you have in your phone right now? or if you are going to flash it, what FS are you going to use?

i looked around and i uploaded my custpack ( customize.xml ) to files_to_upload\tpa\preset\custom\customize.xml

instead of

own_custpack\tpa\preset\custom\customize.xml



i think this will solve my problems ... please post back if this is dangerous ...

flashing isn't dangerous as long as you follow instructions. you can use it in own custpack. why don't you use the XS and FAR SEFP method to flash the phone. the custpack is the customize.xml, the language files, etc. that you get with the custpack you downloaded. i never customized my phone using XS i use the XS and FAR method. but i haven't done a full flash in a while so i don't know which software flashes and customizes the fastest. i can't write the full procedure because i'm using opera mini on my phone. it'll take too long to write everything.

honestly i would use FAR SEFP if i could but i really cant ... it always gives me a error and the patches dont work ... if u could upload the folder with the patches and everything already set , ill try it but i dont think i can do it without that and a bit of instructions on using far im getting pretty good at using XS++ tho so that might make the instructions shorter ....
