Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations on the best phone from a modification stand point. my employer is looking to completely reverse engineer and rebuild a few models of SE. Are there any phones that particularly suit this? are all SEs created equal?

Are all SEs using symbian?

I am also curious if the new 900 smart phone series are often moded...

Thanks for any input

Okay first I'm not too sure why you want to reverse engineer a SE phone (or even if it's legal in your country) so I'll give that first question a miss.
Not all SE phones are created equal, but there are a few hardware duplicates such as the K750 and W800.

Only SE high end phones (mainly the P range and a few others) use symbian, the rest use SE own OS.

The 900 series don't have too many mods out because
1) they are quite new and expensive so not too many people have them.
2) The main software (XS++ and SETool2) may not be totally compatable, so alsong with reason 1 it has not been investigated too much.

Not quite, they use a commercial RTOS with lots of in-house developed processes running on top of it:
