heye bro still same prob....
even if i use .wav or .mp3 ......the startup sound doesnt change...
once long tym bak ichanged the startup sound...but tht was windows xp startup and shutdown sound...n it workd corectly...
but when now ima trying it with other sound .wav or .mp3 watever....only SHUTDOWN is CHANGING.....n not the startup!!!!!!!!

have u tried a master reset? after uploading the startup sound?

did you remove the extnsion nme .mp3 or .wav? remove the extension nme and it will work..master reset is not needed..

it works perfectly without  removing the extension ..or at least in my case

maybe you did not remove the original file "STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mid"

try to check if you have this file and remove this then add your startup and shutdown sound

the folder should only contain 5 files

2 for startup and shutdown image
2 for shutdown and startup sound ( which is your files)
1 for SPLASH

Thanks alot bro...itried ya trick...n removd othr files from FS via FAR Manager...
and now ma Startup is Changed tooo....!!!!!!!

no problem bro,
its not a trick actually the *.mid is the default startup sound so it should be deleted if you change your startup sound

Ive just made a startup animated picture and ive uploaded it to the phone but its keeps on animating instead of like after abuot 5 seconds go onto standby

why is this? Is it becasue Ive looped the animation?

first of all simple and great work!  

you have to change the time of replays of the gif then it have to work...had the same problem at the first time

Im not quite sure what you mean...I edited it and made it not loop, only for 3 times, is that what you mean?

I use Fireworks 8
