What is your opinion of SE's policy of asking websites to remove content, which has already been leaked and seen by thousands of people? Do you consider SE to be acting against its loyal fans by making such requests or do you think SE is well within its rights to ask for the removal of content, which may benefit its competitors?

I also voted for the second option. It does seem a bit silly to remove content, which so many people have already seen. I can understand SE's position, but it just seems pointless really when half the internet will have already seen that content.

They obviously can't stop what's already happened, but the amount of people who have seen it will still be relativly small, and they will want to stop it as soon as possible, I know I would! I bet someone at Orange will be getting and earfull

The pictures in question were posted on a number of forums, the chances are that tends of thousands have already seen them.

No doubt many people have seen this now, and it will keep popping up, but they seem determined to stop people if they can.

It just seems to be rather pointless when so many people have already seen the pictures in addition to the fact that many will have saved them.

Well, I think that everybody who is really mad about phone rumours has already seen this, and everybody else won't really care...at least no we've got some kind of real confirmation that this design is something real...

i didn't vote because its a bit of the 1st option and a bit of the 2nd.

they obviously have their reasons and its their right to choose whats done with their property.

I would agree with you, but as I said it is pretty much pointless at this stage. So many people have seen the pictures on this website and others all around the world. Those pictures were posted on websites ranging from the Western ones we are familiar with e.g. SE-NSE, Esato, m-r, Mobileburn, etc plus websites from the rest of the world.

The leak of the photo brought about excitement and intrigue. And had lots of people over the phone even before it was officially unofficial

Sounds like brilliant advertising to me...

Think back to all the hype over Clara (k750). You can't buy that type of advertising/promotion.

Now SE have asked us to remove the content, they have a dilema on their hands.

By asking us to remove the said images they are inadvertantly admiting that "hermiony" aka P950 is real.
I will refer to said device as P950 "hermiony" as I feel, I have the right to, they are just words, and I have personally decided to call the said device P950.

N.B. For the sake of being fair, there is a certain friend, from an north eastern part of the world, that still seems to know about the said device???

Hey I think its their right. For people that are really interested, well we've seen it, photoshopped it and even critisised it. Now all we have left is to see the official announcement and specs to start phase two of our discussion. If someone interested missed it, he'd still be able to see it somewhere. I look at it that this move is just a confermation that our time wasn't wasted discussing a fake thing. It also means we're going to see it soon.
I've always though lawyers were pretty good at doing their job but are mostly super unaware of anthing else in the world, hence their actions that we normal people think are stupid

I also believe it SE's right to ask sites to remove pics and specs so there strategy isn't revieled to their competitors(although they pretty much already know cause of industrial spying).

I can see where you are coming from, but if Hermione is to be released soon, which looks certain, then those pictures hardly give SE's rivals time to steal the design and bash out one of their own.
