lol, that doesn't look too bad actually.

Is it easier or harder to use?

it is actually easier to use and doesn't hurt my thumb as bad either.. however, i wonder if it will catch on lint and loose thread in my pockets more..

i guess i'lll find out this week!

hopefully i get my login info for the total multi server so i can do my own k750 to w800 firmware conversion.. hehe....

Hi Mowbli .. I don't see why not. It's just a matter of sussing out the wiring arrangement - what do you have in mind?  :munch:

Hey, sweet mods.
I have been browsing alot and I stumbled upon Judderman's tutorial with picture of how he did his K750i headset to 3.5mm jack mod. I had the same set of Sony MDR-EX71 earphones lying around so I thought, hey, why not. Here is Judderman's tutorial from HowardForums
And this is my finished product...   ^-^

I've fixed the link for you which didn't work :)

It looks nice, I think even I could try something like that. Was it easy?

Thank you.
Yeah, it was pretty easy. Didn't take long too. As long as you know you keep track of the wires and you know how to use a soldering iron.  :)

Great stuff. :good:

Let me make two silly questions.

What does the Ground of the hearphone do?

How can I check if the ground pin on the fastport is working properly?

Thanks. :p

Nicely done chaps, some of these are really good, I love the first one!

I would try these things, but there is no way I'd be able to do it without causing some damage of some sort!

I'm finding it really hard to even get the fastportout of the holder. You know the black bit with the connections out of the grey "housing". Could this be an indication that the connector is the wrong type (bonded)?  :o  :bad:  <-<

Any chance anyone who has made one of these before could make me one? I can supply the 3.5mm jack.

Thanks

p.s. I will pay!

If anyone has a good, clean example of what rabvtec has shown in the first post without any damage and doesnt look to shabby I would be VERY interested in purchasing one. I will very good money for a very simple mod!

Gee shucks, thanks guys .. :o  gbrooks3 .. espaecially your ( _ _ _ _ ) comment lol

@ gbrooks3 - got your PM bud, but as you can see I've taken the plunge but will def keep you in mind for future 'How-To's' ... ermm, I "promised" scotsboyuk that I'd look into a '3.5mm integrated jack' ..

Hmmm... that internal 3.5mm integrated jack thing sounds intriguing, is there even room inside a K750/W800 or even a W810 for such a thing? Or even a 2.5mm integrated jack as it would be smaller... now that would be interesting for me since SE had that solution for the Z1010 I had before... And, what's the frickin' meaning of making a phone that's the W800 size if you have to extend it by roughly 2cm when using the headset? doesn't that defy the purpose of the phone being the size it is? Why not extend the phone with about 0.8cm and integrate a 3.5mm jack into it instead, making it less prone to breaking something off...(I fear I am going to break the fastport connector one day;)

-=If it works, break it to see if you can fix it=-
-=Happy owner of a W880i=-

Rab could u repost the link to the headsets that come with the non bonded FastPort connector as iv just checked my old k750 one and im fairly certain its a bonded one :(

Id really like to do this mod for myself and all i would need is the right FP connector.
