Hi guys,

I recently bought K700i and wanted to flash it to the newest firwmare - currently it has the oldest one :)
I bought service cable, but here's the problem.

My Mobo doesn't have COM ports, so I'm using COM port, which is connected to USB and I plug the service cable to it. SeTool2 opens port COM3 successfully, but when I run 'Flash' and then power on phone - it doesn't flash, but only turn on.

What to do now?

Flash drivers? Where to get them? Aren't they for K750?

It can be problem with power- I'm not sure if your COM on usb can give enough juice to run RS232 converter chip in the cable.

I tested the service cable with my friend's computer. He's got "native" COM port on his mobo. Also - no reaction from the phone, but now it's starting to charge...

Are you sure you have a service cable? Try MyPhoneExplorer or Float's Mobile Agent- afaik they don't work with service cables (FMA for sure doesn't), so if they can connect to your phone you have data cable. Or look here and check where wires are connected in your cable (but this requires some disassembly)
