My thought was that it had to be some kind of bug in the firmware, and having customised my w810 using the non-bruteforce method sucessfully, I decided a good place to start would be having a poke around in the w300's innards, I didn't discover the cause to the problem, but either by luck or design, I did manage to fix the problem......I have no idea if it'll help others with this problem, but given the distinct lack of solutions on the net, my solution may help a few with the same problem......
So, what you'll need:
w300i main/FS/CDA files matching the firmware/region you currently have installed; finding these is what took me the most time, I live in Thailand, and it's very diffcult to find the right files without paying for them (big thanks to qwerty12 for the elusive cda file!
XS++
Far manager with SEFP plugin 0.10.0.51 installed
Latest version of SEUS
All these files are linked on Pisanggoreng's excellent tutorial (thanks for that one, top class stuff!!) http://forums.se-nse...?showtopic=7330 ......whilst you're there you can follow word for word all the pre-measures, when you get to step 7 make sure you use w300_p3k_dcu.49R.ssw to flash main instead of the w810 one....
OK once the flashing finishes (about 5 secs, for me it always hangs on completion, so just click "close" and don't worry about doing your phone in....although given it's got a WSOD it doesn't really matter eh?)
OK, now fire up SEUS and let it do it's thing, if it hangs on 90% then go back into XS++, reflash w300_p3k_dcu.49R.ssw, and the flash your FS - from my experience, older versions of the FS cause XS++ to hang on 3% but the one matching your firmware works (XS tells you which one when you plug in the DCU60 cable) then start up SEUS again, you should be able to get to 100% this time.
Now go into FAR (at the risk of teaching you all to suck eggs.....if you're not sure, refer to Pisanggoreng's tute) and add your CDA file, and any customisations you might want whilst you're at it, make sure you exit FAR correctly!!!
Back into XS++ and flash main, again with the firmware that matches what XS says you have, and you should have a working phone again....
I have no idea if this is just a fix for the particular WSOD on my lady's phone or if it sorts out some of the others the w300 (and perhaps other models?????) suffers from, but as I see it, given that the phone is knakered anyway it's surely worth a crack innit????
Hope this helps, and let me know if you need further info/help.......
