First download the files we're going to need:
Main2Raw
SEFStool (megaupload)

Then go to the download section and download your firmware;
for example I will get the w810i firmware (you need to download the FS, not the MAIN!)

(just for those who dont know...)

Now extract the .exe's of SEFStool & Main2Raw to the same directory on your desktop (you can move them later) then open that directory and put the firmware you wish to extract in it... now you'll have:

then select the FS firmware and drag it to the main2raw.exe, it will extract a file, the folder now should look like this:

now.. i had a problem with dragging the .raw to sefstool, but if dragging the raw file to SEFStool4.exe worked you dont have to do this:
it would only give me a .FS file, not a folder... the way I did it was using the command promt. To get to the command prompt go to start>run and type cmd, once in the command prompt type this:
cd %userprofile%\Desktop\FSExtract (or the name of the folder you chose when extracting the executables)
then type sefstool4.exe <filename.raw> (e.g. "sefstool4.exe W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_3_RED49.raw")

then it will get working and when its done you will have a folder called W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_3_RED49 in the directory you had the .raw file, that is the file system of your phones firmware...
At final you'll have:

This could be handy for people who don't know where to put there files or just want to experiment with their phones...
i made this as noob as i could and described each step... ill hope it will help some out...
and i couldn't put this in the tutorial forum so if an admin would like to do it if he finds it helpful...

I've trying to use sefstool to extract files from K750_R1CA021_FS_EUROPE_1_RED36 and K750_R1CA021_FS_EUROPE_1_RED49 (and others as well) and it always hangs in the same error.

SEFSTOOL4.exe keeps crashing on me when I drag + drop the .raw file onto it, but it still outputs a .fs file. However, when I execute it using command prompt, it just quits on its own. I am trying to unpack the W810i hong kong FS.

Hi, all. I've been trying to extract my FS file using Main2Raw and SEFSTool4 to get my original files to use with move sysfiles to other..

I always get a error at the end of the SEFSTool4:

WARNING: partition start is invalid ($0000 or $FFFF)
It still has extracted a folder, so i saw the file sizes

My file was named FS, these are the file sizes:

(W810_R4ED001_FS_S_ASIA_LEVAN_RED49)FS.fbn - 10.2 MB (10,760,160 bytes)

FS.raw FILE (Generated by main2raw) - 10.2 MB (10,748,416 bytes)

FS.raw.fs FILE (Generated by SEFSTool4) - 31.8 MB (33,445,888 bytes)

_FS.raw FOLDER (Generated by SEFSTool4) - 8.75 MB (9,175,299 bytes)

The folder is smaller than the .fbn, so obviously something isnt working.

I've already tried re-downloading the FS, SEFSTool4 and Main2Raw twice over.
I retried this like 5-6 times with the cmd line , ive tried re-extracting it, changing names, trying it on NTFS and FAT32 partition, it always gives the same error and same sizes. I've searched a lot everywhere, but there seems to be nothing on this.

If no one knows how to fix this can someone please rar up the extracted folder and attach it here, or email to ankitsoni9{(A_T)}gmail.com.

How do I put the modified files back in the phone?

if this doesnt work you need to use far if you want to know the folder three(all the folders)
just make in the same folder a new map called FS then connect your phone.
open fs and you will see about 5 folders, simply copy them to them to FS and you get the folders right.
THIS IS ONLY FOR THE FOLDERS! IT DOES NOT CONTAIN ALL THE FS FILES!

if you want to edit you FS simply search the path in your copiedfarFS then use xs++ to copy files to your phone´s FS.


PS- when getting error ``no FS description block found @ $00000000´´
your phone type is probably not supported!

Im getting the error partition start invalid $0000 or $FFFF. My phone is supported - its a w810.. Im skeptical about using the FAR method because it has already bricked my phone once and i dont want to try it again..
Im sure i followed the instructions right and Ive seen lots of users who's phones just wont work with FAR for some reason.

k750i isn't on it.

Using this tutorial with SEFStool4.exe and main2raw.exe to extract the file system with K800_R1ED001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED49.raw......I get the folders and a third of the files (themes, ringtones, Java apps, menu items etc)

The command window revealed an error message at the end of running SEFStool4 similar to a previous post,
WARNING: partition start is invalid ($0000 or $FFFF).....( I'm using the second partition on the harddrive)
EDIT: Think now this is the raw file looking for the beginning of memory in the phone chip, so no problem.

My problem now is all the folders are locked as Read Only, not the files, and I can not unlock these attributes through windows(XP SP2 Pro) or via the command prompt.
EDIT: Think this is to do with XP as all folders are now locking although not permanently.

I assume the raw file image has 'nailed' itself to my harddrive..Any advice on removing the folder attributes would be appreciated..

This gave folder and some files, the folder remains read only, can not delete it any ways.

Finally found an odd bug in my Windows XP Sp2 Pro, by deleting the files in the folders first, then unchecking the read only attribute in folder properties I can delete everything, I was trying to use folder properties to uncheck 'All read only sub folders and files', that didn't work. Sorry for the confusion.

@ho-malo, I think that would be called a 'Walkman 2.0 Patch' for a W710. Not sure whether there is one though.

I think there is a problem with the computer. SEFStool4.exe might work with all the windows.
The better way to work it is to fix the computer.
