I currently have a C510 that I want to flash to the firmware used by '3' (a UK network operator) so I have the '3' menu that allows access to my account etc

I have two questions:

1. Does this degrade performance on the phone (is it worth it) and

2. Is it possible to do this using the A2 Uploader and SEUS combo but by selecting the UK-3 option when generating the customize_upgrade.xml file in the CDA file creator?

Any help would be appreciated.

1. I personally would not brand it. Usually the branded firmwares aren't updated as often, and sometimes never. That means that the phone would run a older that is: Buggier, slower and overall not as good.

1 No idea, but usually branded firmware does. However, I dont think three are that heavy on branding.

2 Correct. If that fails, then search for three (hutchinson) firmware

Iam with 3 also and i found after debranding i could no longer download from planet 3 which was a real bother for me so i uploaded a 3 cust pack and had problems with 80% of flash menus a few of the icons were missing.

you dont need to flash with 3 firmware all you need is a three cust pack to get access to your account and so forth.
