Okay, so i was listening to a song on my phone, and suddenly, after about a minute or two, i get a notification to delete some files to make space for a message. This confused me because i have an 8gb memory stick and it said my phone memory wasn't enough to recieve the message. besides that point, after i deleted some files and hit back to go back, i noticed the phone quit rendering the font... except the letters e, i, and h? i tried going to the home screen and back to see if it would fix it self, but then i couldn't get into the menu. or any menu. or even the walkman player? i could still hear the music and the background was playing fine, at full speed (firmware R3EF001 wink.gif )

then my phone just turned off. So i was like "okay, not a problem. it'll start back up" which it didn't. it was in an infinte boot loop for about an hour and i took the battery out and put it back in abut a minute later. after testing it with another phones battery and that battery in another phone. didnt work still.

So my brand new w760i refuses to turn on and had multiple software glitches before it entered the IBL (infinte boot loop)

I plugged it in a2 uploader, and it indentified correctly and i was able to reinstall both firmware files perfectly fine. FS and MBN. i'm able to access the file system too.

What is the problem?? Can this be solved? I'm the type of guy that NEEDS his phone working at all times!! So get back as FAST as you can!!

Yes. I'm getting a replacement phone because to tell the truth, AT&T's phone system isn't very specific and in person, they told me i'll get one day after tomorrow. In time too, i upgrade to a new phone in January smile.gif

But yes, it almost certainly is a major problem. I flashed main, fs and i tried reparing semcboot and its still ebing recognized, and still not booting up
Corman
Bizarre... Maybe your SIM card is corrupt?
Manny
Im having the same problem right now, its still restarting can anyone help? I even took the sim out but no luck...
shishir95
Hey Manny. A quick call to AT&T's customer reps gave me a replacement phone but i dont know what you could do with yours sad.gif I have to have this one work so i'm patch free till then...

Try running Aerix again. it might work!
Manny
damn, I flash the phone but the process stops halfway... sad.gif when i plug the charger in the phone boots but can see the backlight only and when i take the charger out, the phone switches off i cant even turn the phone now normally without a charger can someone help? sad.gif
Kaosblade
Did you apply any patches?
Manny
Yeah, i applied a GFX patch and patches
Kaosblade
You and shishir should compare your patched list and find the common ones and/or latest ones. Probably then we can find out which patch caused this. I used to get infinite boot loops on db2020 because of patching. confused.gif
Manny
I think your right, its probably most likely got to do with the phone_app.cxc because without the phone_app file the phone doesn't boot. but yeah im going to try a new battery and then will try to flash it again
santae3
it all happned after you installed the gfx patch?? as long as the mobile is detected in computer, the extent of the problem could be less!!!
Kaosblade
Manny, try flashing the FS instead of the main.
Manny
ok will give it a go, but i don't think that will help tbh, think about it the problem is that the phone wont boot properly so the file would be: phone_app.cxc and by flashing the main it will re-new the phone app file and hence the phone should boot up

@santae,

yes it happened after i made and applied a mega gfx patch

oh and btw i replaced the gfx phone_app file with a phone_app that didnt have the gfx patch installed and it still doesnt boot up properly...
Kaosblade
I thought maybe a new FS might generate a new phone_app, but if a new main does it then keep trying. thumbsup.gif
Manny
Problem solved, thanks guys thumbsup.gif
Corman
How did you do it?
Boysie
