Hey guys,
I recently bought a SE W995 and I do love it apart from the camera. It's awfully poor. I have a feeling, that SE have yet again done a 'crafty' and just blew the pixels up with a 2.0mp lens and branded it an 8.1mp camera phone.
Last year a good friend of mine with a K800i got in touch with SE, asking about the camera quality in that phone and SE gave the response that it had indeed got a 2.0mp lens in it but due to image size they can brand it a 3.2mp (which sucks). Now with my new W995 I question that theory again.... why do they do this? I still have a little K750i and that takes a better quality image than the W995's 'supposed' 8.1mp camera. I have also shot some images with the W995 in 2.0mp mode and the K750i still is better.
I'm a hobbyist photographer and like on occasion to take a nice snap with my phone but why do SE do this to its customers?
Terrible quality lens and terrible image quality makes it a real annoyance unfortunately. I wish I kept my Nokia N95 because it took a cracking picture.
So is there a fix for it? i've read a camera driver update is apparent but I can't see how they can improve a bad quality lens with an update?!
Also I cannot update the camera driver at all due to running an Apple Mac and i'm not sure if there are any programs out there that allow me to do this?
Any ideas or comments would be really appreciated!
Best regards,
Mike.
