Full Version: C903 Keylock Password

I hate having to ask for help in my first post here but I've spent about an hour browsing around the forums looking for an answer and have failed to find what I need. I just got a c903 on Three and its great except for the lack of a keylock password. I now know that several SE models have firmware hacks done for them to add this feature but I seem to be having trouble finding what I need to do to add the feature to my c903...

If anybody could point me in the right direction to wherever the answer is hidden I'd really appreciate it. If I'd know that SE phones lacked this feature I'd probably have stuck with Nokia but I didn't and now I need to try and get around the inexplicable lack of the feature in the official firmwares.

Thanks in advance.

At the moment the keyboard lock patch for C903 is not yet developed. You'll have to wait, or do it yourself (if you, like me, don't have any pc knowledge, I suggest you wait wink.gif)

You are right that it is a disgrace sonyericsson.gif does not include this in new models

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't suppose there is an ETA for the patch? I'm very tempted to try and get 3 to exchange the phone if I'm going to be without this feature for a long time but I do like it a lot except for this one glaring ommission so if it will be a matter of weeks rather than months I may suffer patiently. Sadly I definitely lack the skill to do the work myself and while it sounds like it should be relatively simple I'm sure it probably isn't.

Believe me, it's not wink.gif. There has just been a major breakthrough in modding A2 phones (the chipset that your phone has): the availability of A2 permanent patching smile.gif. It's just a matter of time now when a good patch porter/developer will buy or be interested in the C903. Sadly that means I can't give you an ETA though (the sonyericsson.gif modding community doesn't work in that way tongue.gif)

It could take a while before the patch arrives. If you desperately need a keyboard lock, it can be a hard time waiting
