I have a G705 that I flashed to W715 via A2Uploader. I've been waiting for sites like TopSony to get the latest firmware but they just don't have it. Does anyone know the CDA and the customize_upgrade.xml required in order to get the latest firmware?

Also, I need traditional Chinese working with those firmware, so can anyone give me instructions on how to get them working with the latest firmware? I totally forgot how *facepalm*

You can't use SEUS to upgrade to the latest W715 firmware. It will be confused by the fact that your IMEI specifies you have a G705, but your loaded firmware identifies your phone as W715 since you crossflashed. Once you crossflash, you cannot use SEUS to upgrade. Your only choice is to either manually flash W715 firmware, or flash back to an old G705 firmware and then you can use SEUS to upgrade to the latest G705 firmware.

Adding Chinese support is just a matter of uploading the language files and including them in customize_upgrade.xml (for example, if you have R1FAxxx, then you can use any R1FAxxx language files)

Oh, cus the latest version detects my phone as W715, so I thought it'd work or something. Guess it still doesn't. Time to continue waiting for the firmware...

As for the Chinese support, I recall you saying something bout the Customize_upgrade.xml. However, I forgot the coding for it...I'll try to find it on HoFo.

yeah, SEUS will detect it as a W715 but it won't give you any updates for it.

Does anyone know why none of the sites have the new firmwares available? Heck W705 R1GA026 is available on SEUS and I'm still stuck with R1DA034 on my W715 cus the only way for me is to flash my phone via A2Uploader if I want to keep it as a W715 instead of G705...

W715 R1EA033 is freely available on Russian sites, you can at least use that.

Also, I was experimenting with FOTA and it seems that there's a new firmware available. Do you know what kind of firmware I'd get? Should I upgrade it using FOTA?

Yep, I meant that. my CDA is....1209-4769? I checked using >*<<*<*. I think I have the right CDA. Either way, the custpack I uploaded was a W705 1220_9230_R6A HK custpack. TopSony doesn't seem to have a generic, debranded custpack for W715...Other sites might have them though.

custpack isn't a big deal, just a text file.. just make sure the CDA and variant name is correct.

yes, just get the firmware files (main, filesystem, custpack) for the W715 and flash it using a2uploader.

yeah its called .software but it's just unencrypted mbn and fbn.. add both of them to a2uploader as normal and flash.

yeah it supports CID52.. don't worry, your phone will remain as CID52 after flashing (or even SEUS for that matter).

Upgraded it to R1EA033 yesterday...I don't like this firmware. Texting is not as smooth as before and there seems to be quite a few bugs when texting and using threaded SMS. I'll be reverting back to R1DA035. All that work for nothing.

Update:

Got G705 R1FA035. Major changes from W715 R1DA035. I'm gonna to see if I can get used to these changes. However I'll probably switch back to W715 later tonight.

Er, I don't think R1EA033 gave me any FOTA upgrades. Don't remember...

I'm using G705 R1FA035 right now and it's pretty good. Only bad thing is the vibration in the flash menu, and shortcuts and soft key options on the main screen.

No you can't.

XS++ won't work for an A2 phone.. you need to use A2Uploader to flash main and FS and access filesystem, etc.

the issue is that the latest firmwares (R1FA035, R1GAxxx) isn't available yet for us to flash for free (they're only available on SEUS and for use on paid services like wotan, etc)..

Uh I'm gonna venture in a guess here.

By flashing G705 to W715, you gain Walkman Player and the orange LED light. Everything else is pretty much the same.

i dont know if anyone here have a problem with walkman.
i flash my g705 with w715 baltic. the problem is the display light..
when i use the walkman player.. it just normal... after a couple of second the menu button change to orange light...
them the display slowly to fade as usual... after the display go to black screen. then i cant use the display anymore.
i must quit the walkman n slide the phone...then the phone back to normal again...
