help this is the first time i have used this site i have read a lot on this site about flashing firmware here but how do you actually do it as i have a dead w580i with just a solid red light on left hand side of phone .yhe phone got wet i dried it all out and it worked ok new battery ok but just black screen and this constant red light please help me

Flashing probably won't do any good I'm afraid. The red led can indicate an erom or gdfs problem, that is of course if your battery is charged, as a flat battery will also show that led with a charge of less than 5%.

Connect to XS and post a log if you can.

thanks please help what does erom and gdfs problem mean? im sorry to ask but this really isnt my thing but i know battery ok because its from another phone

If the battery is charged, then basically the phone is dead.

Personally I would stick it on charge for a few hours then try again
