Hello
I have already 2 M2 sticks that got stuck when used in my W300i. I think it happened when I had taken a picture and returned too quickly to the menu. I got a white screen and the phone restarted. My M2 sticks are since then "stuck": One (256MB) is recognised in the phone, I can choose format but it doesn't format at all. When I want to save a photo I get white screen and restart again. The other stick (512MB) can't be recognised in the phone.
With a cardreader in the pc (my computer, system management, computermanagement, disk management) I sometimes see my 512MB stick is seen as a 4Gigabyte USB drive. When filemanager is opened, there are some files with incoherent symbols, totalling 15 GB! The FAT is damaged.
I can't save any change to the sticks. Not even these programs made any change, I can still see the files that were on the stick when it crashed: wipe, zap, zap63, hdshredder, cardwiper, flashboot, stellar wipe, HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool, SDFormatter V2.0, Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool in Windows and fdisk and testdisk in Linux. Even changes with a raw disk editor like HxD where I manually tried to put zeros in the FAT were not saved. It' like there is a write protection on, but I thought there was no write protection on M2, there is no switch like on a SD-card.
Is there a solution for this problem or can I get rid of my sticks?
Thanks for your advice.
Dirk
