Ok, my girlfriend has a s.e. k770 i bought for her in janurary.

this is the 3rd time it has happened, and the 3rd time ive had to send it back to s.e. but the keypad suddenly stops working, not the whole of the keypad, but only certain keys?

ive tried changing the keypad myself but with a new keypad it doesnt work, same problem, as well as a flash with the update service and similar tools.

ive heard apprently theres some jumper than can reset it? but im unsure as when it comes back from s.e. it works for a couple of weeks - couple of months then the problem occurs again.

anyone been in a similar situation?

Could be hardware damage... Does your girlfriend hold it in wet places?

I knew it would get percepted wrong lol.gif

Seriously though, could be water damage
Broonie
That was a timebomb waiting to happen that joke.

Should of left the "girlfriend" part out.

No she doesnt? Its just the fact the keypad partly dies? Certain keys die each time its never the same keys.

But S.E. service centre would of surely fixed it the 1st time, or the 2nd time, or hopefully the 3rd time? (its there just now)

I got the same problem! I think it's water damage.. Don't know if this can be fixed for free?

lol at corman's first question lol.gif
Broonie
I've checked the white labels for water damage but there still red? No red dye ohmy.gif But wouldnt of s.e. refused to fix it if that was the case?
Corman
Bizarre... Tell her to keep it dry after the fix and hope that it won't break anymore
Broonie
Told her the last two times?

Lets keep it off the subject of wet laugh.gif glare.gif
Corman
lol.gif Then I'm out of ideas
Broonie
I kind of have an idea of how your mind works now with girlfriends, water damage, and phones laugh.gif

Red means contact with water. SE should of refused it (water invalidates the warranty)

Has the phone been taken apart to allow it to dry 100%?
