Full Version: Gps Route Tracking On The Se C903?

Hi all,
I just got a C903 and feel that one important function is lacking for the aGPS:

When biking, I want to be able to track my routes and store them to share with others.
On my R.I.P k750i, I did this with a Bluetooth GPS connected, and an applet called MobiTrackPRO.
This applet is brilliant, as it tracks whatever route as often as you want (in meters), as stores them as .kmz files; perfect for Google Earth.

The C903 comes with a software called "Tracker" something, but AFAIK it doesn't track GPS coordinates at all; only uses them to calculate velocity and distance. I even tried MobiTrackPRO, but it can't connect to the internal aGPS.

Is there a way to accomplish this on the C903?

Cheers;

tracker does store info about your route. Speed too. Save your file and use it with GPSies and uTrack.

Thanks,
I also got a tip that GPSed should work. I didn't expect the Java/Symbian version to work with my model,
but it seems fine so far except currently it can't write track data to disk...don't know why yet.

I tried Tracker, and it seems to work, BUT there's a flaw:

On yesterday's biking trip, it exited on me twice.
I started Tracker, and put it in my pocket. Either:
1) Tracker lost sat connection, and exited (as in "crashed", if you ask me). Or
2) Tracker has no option to lock the keyboard even when the slide is closed.
So you may accidentally close the app.

I find the latter a little dubious, but anyway it spoiled yesterday's tracking session.
Let's just say it has potential :-)

Cheers;
