Hi,

New here and hoping someone can help.

I've just bought a used w880i handset which was locked to t-mobile. I've had it unlocked and have noticed a problem with the backlight which seems to have a regular delay of 15 seconds before coming on from rest. I'm not sure if this problem was there before as I could only test the phones functionality once unlocked. I've emailed the guy I bought it from who (unsurprisingly) says it was fine for him.

Does this sound like a fault with the hardware or is there a setting one can use to alter the delay? The guy who unlocked my phone hinted that there may be some form of hidden manufacturers menu in which these adjustments can be made.

I would be grateful for any advice/input.

Many thanks

I have a similar problem with my TM506. The front screen that displays time, signal, and batery does not come on sometimes when I press the volume button. Is there something I'm doing to disable this feature? When I press the voluem button the screen lights up but very dim. I have to open the phone and close it again to see the LED come on.

If the backlight is working, albeit delayed then sounds more like a FW related problem. AFAIK there is no setting in the service menu to adjust this. You could try a master reset or if that fails to cure it, a full reflash might help. smile.gif
