Hi all,

I'm getting into the modding spirit and customising my phone! Already moved the op logo elsewhere on the screen, modified a theme with lots of custom graphics now I want to start on the flash menu.

I really love the dusk setting flash menu and want to use it on my theme as it will look great. There are a couple of problems with it though:

I want to change the background to be the same as my wallpaper (but darker)
I want to change a few of the icons and text (w'n'w to opera, "jukebox" to mp3 player etc...)

I am using a C905 and a2uploader to copy files.

I've pulled the original dusk setting_desktop.swf from my phone, renamed to mytheme_desktop.swf changed the xml in my theme to point to it. Uploaded everything at it correctly links.

I decompiled the swf, changed the wallpaper and icon graphics, re-compiled it (using Sothink SWF Quicker - the only editor I have). Uploaded to the phone and it works, but VERY slowly - 2 seconds to show the anim when navigating items. Also I have lost the vibrate.

I also edited the menu.ml to change the action on the icons, but when I select opera the phone freezes. If I use a non-flash menu then Opera opens OK.

I've not changed the action script except to relabel 'App1_Text = "Internet"' from 'App1_Text = "w'n'w"'. I am a competent programmer so this bit was an easy change.


I'm not very good with flash, what version/settings should I use to compile the swf?

ActionScript 1/2
Compress y/n

Do I need to compile flash lite any different to regular flash? What tools does everybody else use?
