Hello,

My Sister bricked her w595 when doing a software update. The only responce from the phone is some lights from the left hand side buttons when you plug it into the PC/Charger (Menu/Call/skip and play buttons).

I seem to remember this or something similar happening when I had my w800 (about 4/5 years ago) and I sorted it out I have been searching online but can;t seem to find how to do it. I tried connecting it to xs++ and holding the c button but nothing happens. Coud somebody point me in the direction of how to fix it please.

How was she doing the update, with SEUS? Download A2uploader and see if it gets recognised then post a log of the results.

If the SEUS is the sony updater then yeah she used that. I downloaded the link, installed the driver and ran the software.

I don't think thats the full log but looks pretty dead. I'm not experienced with A2uploader, corman will be along soon, I'm sure he'll help.

Have u trying to holding 2 or 5 or 2+5 when connecting to a2uploader? Then post the log.

Did you install the usb flash drivers by any chance?

I've had some problems with my W595 too, check here.

The red light you get is because either the GDFS is damaged, either the battery is down. Sometimes, my W595 refuses to charge its dead battery so I need another one. Try using another battery and see if it powers up (the W300i one fits ).

Tried holding 2+5 and I did install the drivers, I don;t have acess to another battery all my old SE phones have a different battery, apart from the w850 which I can't find (typical) I think she may just have to send it off.

I'd wait a bit, maybe one of your friends has got a phone too?
