Hi, I have a c902, im not sure if it is branded or not.

The phone came with one flash theme, 'red carpet' although it doesnt work. When i go into the main menu it is just a blank theme where I can go into the different parts of my phone.

I also tried installing one flash theme through A2Uploader, although what I got was just the original theme which i had tried to use and edited through XML. I did change the name, and also the put the relevant file in the relavant place through A2Uploader.

Ive checked the secret SE menu, and in 'Sim lock' all the keylocks are unlocked with the number 5 next to it.

Does this show me that my phone is debranded? The shop said it was unlocked and debranded, although there are still operator logos and files in the phone and I cant get the flash themes to work. How can I check if my phone is unbranded?

When i first brought the phone from an official phone dealer, I updated the software through SEUS, perhaps this is the problem?

Oh and btw, could someone check and tel me if this guide is a working guide for installing flash themes on c902: http://www.se-stuff.net/help/flash-menu.html

Any help appreciated.
Thanks alot.

You need A2 uploader.
Start A2 Uploader
Connect your phone pressing "c" (phone has to be shutdown)
Go to tpa/presets/system/desktop/flash, and coy the swf file that a flash theme has it. If you want you could copy several themes at a time
Then press Shutdown FS.
Copy the thm files that a theme has it to your phone.
When you change the theme, than the dekstop should change.

Yeah, I did that.
the phone even came with its own .swf file i could see through a2uploader.

The problem is that when I use that theme, the main menu is plain and is not a flash theme.

I did try with another Flash which i uploaded, then edited myself, although didnt work.

my question is, how do i check if my phone is debranded/unlocked? Can it be doen through the service menu?

It probably is branded because it doesn't show the flash themes smile.gif. You can choose to unbrand it, or to just enable flash themes. The latter is done by uploading the following code as customize_upgrade.xml to tpa/preset/custom

Right-click me to save the file as customize_upgrade.xml

If all the locks are open in the service menu then your phone is unlocked however if you still have operator stuff on it then it is branded. smile.gif

Thanks guys.

Corman, do you by any chance have a guide for that. Im kinda lost :X

And putting that onto the phone voids warranty yes?

if a problem arises, is there anyway I can hide/remove it from the service centre seeing it. Eg delete it using A2uploader?

Thanks
Corman
Open A2Uploader, press Filesystem Tool and connect your phone while holding C. Uploadt the given file to tpa/preset/custom and press Shutdown FS loader (or something like that). Remove your phone from the computer and power it on. Wait till the please wait message dissappears and you will have flash themes on your phone smile.gif.

It will void the warranty yes, but if anything goes wrong, simply update with SEUS, which will fully reflash the phone and reset it to its original state smile.gif
Edwarrior317
So that means reflashing the phone to the original state will prevent the service centre from knowing that I tampered with the software?

Sorry, im a bit wary of all this sad.gif

Thanks smile.gif
Corman
Exactly smile.gif. It's like re-installing Windows smile.gif

Exactly. smile.gif

EDIT: corman you're always first! devil2.gif
Edwarrior317
Thank you very much guys smile.gif smile.gif

Now I shall try it laugh.gif

EDIT: Oh um, besides allowing Flash menus, does that Customize.xml change anything else?

Cheers
Corman
It can enable a few things, like if you can use MP3's as ringtones etc.
Edwarrior317
Ah right. it works great ^^

Sorry, but a few questions:
1. I heard there are differences such as Flash theme 1.0, 2.0, 2.1
Are they all compatible with the c902?

2. Are there differences with flash themes and flash menus? Because with my brothers phone, the flash themes have their own wallpapers yet the few I have tried, only the menu's have changed and not wallpaper.

3. Also, with what we were talking about before with SEUS, is it possible to just remove the files? Since I dont think I can update with SEUS if I already have the latest SEUS update.

Thanks again smile.gif
Corman
1. C902 use FL2.1 (like every other new sonyericsson.gif phone) smile.gif. FL1.1 and FL2.0 menus are incompatible: they will show up, but you won't be able to enter any menu.
2. Some themes indeed have flash wallpapers. Check the themes in the Theme Creator and see what wallpaper is being used smile.gif
3. You can also delete the files with A2Uploader, yes smile.gif.
Edwarrior317
Ahh thanks.

This is copy and pasted from another thread:

I have tried using various flash themes from different websites. Approximately 15 of them, and only one has actually fully worked. The ones that dont work, use the normal theme wallpaper, and i cant actually get into any of the menus. I just press it and it pauses and nothing happens. < So does that mean im not using 2.1 flash themes?

Also, when i assign a flash theme to a normal theme, I get the normal theme wallpaper and all its contents besides its menu which uses the flash menu. How am I meant to find the exact theme to assign it to that matches the flash menu or am I doing something wrong?

Oh and could you explain the difference between a flash theme and flash menu.

thanks smile.gif
Corman
The reason why some menus freeze is because they are the wrong FL version smile.gif. Flash menu and flash theme are just 2 terms referring to the menus smile.gif. The wallpapers are called flash wallpapers smile.gif
Edwarrior317
Are flash menus just the menu area whereas flash themes include wallpapers in the standby mode?

Sorry, but im still kinda lost with the assigning of normal themes. Because when I assign a random theme to the flash theme, I use the normal theme wallpapers and such. Doesnt the flash theme have its own wallpaper etc

Thanks and sorry smile.gif
Corman
Whether a theme has a flash wallpaper or not is completely dependant of the theme smile.gif. As I said, flash themes = flash menus.

You will only get a flash wallpaper if the theme has one, it has nothing to do with the menu it's linked to wink.gif
Edwarrior317
Ah right thanks mate.

Any good websites for 2.1 themes? Cant find much. Most are 2.0 sad.gif

thanks again
Corman
I just use the stock flash menus from other FL2.1 phones (got them from their extracted FS smile.gif)
Edwarrior317
Any chance of a link to a website which contains these themes? laugh.gif
Corman
Here you go
Edwarrior317
Not sure if you want to try any, but this looks alright:

http://www.hdthemes.com/forum/index.php?showforum=24

And thanks a heap for all your help smile.gif
Corman
These will work yes smile.gif. (They are inside the extracted FS's I linked you to tongue.gif)
Edwarrior317
Ah okay thanks. The only problem is that the extracted FS's are huge !

But yeah thanks alot mate smile.gif

EDIT: Oh um sorry, last thing promise laugh.gif
With the themes on that website, it also includes a normal theme along with the flash theme. Do I sitll need to edit the file name in?

Thanks smile.gif
