SO here's the story:

Mom's phone, never messed with it, she was facing some issues, connected it to the SEUS, it said update was available, I ran it. After numerous tries the update finally started, the file was downloaded, installation started & bam! Installation failed. That's all it said. Phone's been dead since. Nothing happens when I turn it on or connect it to the charger.

When I connect it to the PC after removing & re-inserting the battery, it shows the USB Flash thingy but then sometimes says drivers not found.

SETool cannot connect to the phone, keeps giving me this:

I tried XS++ but that says Connection failed.

I'm just hoping the phone isn't dead. Its out of warranty & the only reason I'm not taking it to a service center is 'coz those guys will keep it for 15 days, keep making me call them again & again, finally declare it dead (even if it isn't). Hence, I'd be grateful if someone could help me.

Sound like the flash drivers havent quite been installed.

What windows version are you running? Please include the service pack number

I'm currently on Win7 RC. Don't have XP. Vista SP1. So the phone's not dead?

It just sounds like SEUS hasnt installed the drivers. In fact, Im not that sure if there are any flash drivers out for windows 7?

Do you or dont you have vista? If so, try connecting the phone using vista: use the drivers that are in my sig (They are xp/vista only)

EDIT have you taken out the battery, and reinserted it atfer using SEUS?

Get off Windows 7, try on a Windows XP PC.


For me on Windows 7 the GG Drivers only work once per boot. In other words, if I want to connect my phone, it works once perfectly JUST ONCE and then I need to restart my PC if I wish to connect it again (otherwise it doesnt get detected!)

Also try to connect while holding 2+5 instead of C

Since it is CID53, flash it with FAR+JDFlasher

I'm a n00b when it comes to cell phones :| Where do I get FAR+JDFlasher, what is it? And can I heave a sigh of relief that the phone will come back to life?

O and wouldn't I need a firmware to flash it with? or something like that?

The GDFS doesn't seem corrupted so that seems like a good sign . FAR is a file-browser, and JDFlasher is a plug-in for it that enables you to explore the FW part of your phone.

ile I'm downloading that, just to clear a doubt. Once downloaded, there will be a button named flash & I just hit it? What do I do next? Would I be needing some firmware file or something to flash it with? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

Thank you for the link, when I tried to connect the phone this is the error that I get:

The phone on it's own gets disconnected from the PC. Happened twice.

Also, when I tried to connect the phone to the charger (no apparent reason) a red light turned ON on the side for a few minutes then went ... if that means anything.

Nope. Everything is fine now. Flashed the Main & FS added the custom files. And the phone is back to normal, though an older firmware but thats not issue for now.
