I got the w508! I can honestly say that I love it. Only one thing.... It's supposed to have Threaded SMS or Conversations view - at least that's what so many reviews and other things say - and it does not. And it's not just my model. I had a chance to try 2 others (from a different batch as a matter of fact) and none of them have the "Conversations" setting in the SMS inbox! What's so weird is that the User Guide on the phone itself talks about this setting and how to get to it, but the phone just doesn't have it!

I was thinking that if I could get to the menu.ml file with A2Uploader, I would be able to take a look, maybe fix it, but A2Uploader isn't cooperating!

The phone is fantastic, though. Really nice screen, camera, build - feels great! Just this Messaging thing needs to be fixed.

Anyone? Any thoughts?

A2Uploader still doesn't work ... Try updating it with SEUS

you tried the latest version of a2uploader? afaik w508 is cid53

I did try the most recent version - at least as far as I know.... Topse.ru is tough to make sure since I don't speak Russian.

I actually tried updating with SEUS, too, and got the same as what I already have! So there must be other people - about to get this phone - who are also going to have this issue....

No, I'm really baffled as the_laser said it supports CID53

I wish there was a way to get the_laser to weigh in. Wonder if there's a good way to send him the error messages? Any ideas?

I took a chance and used a customize_upgrade.xml file now that the_laser (best ever) fixed a2uploader for the w508 and it worked!!!!!!!! The w508 now has conversations view - as it should! Huge props to the guy who wrote the customization (from a different forum). Thank you thank you thank you everyone for helping!

I tried this in May, so where can I download this new version of A2uploader? and where can I download and what should I do with that customize_upgrade.xml?

Wow it's a good news.i've been seaching 4 this one.just brought T707 about a month ago.just wondering where i can get the conversation mode.just can't wait to try it.hehe.btw where can i get this 'costumize_upgrade.xml' ? Hm, that's a bummer. I saw it on the w995 and it looked quite handy.

I got rid of it... It's a nightmare when you have more than 1000 messages still in the phone and it tries to open a big conversation.

There's a way to add the normal inbox + the unified inbox. The w995 has 2 inboxes like that. All you need to do is change some thing in the menu.ml.

I know I didn't actually remove them, I just pressed right and used the normal inbox

Second that very laggy, I only use it if i'm showing someone a conversation
Beats going from inbox to sent messages loads of times

That's the only positive side of it that I can see anymore

This is my only issue with it as well. I like it, and it doesn't seem laggy on my w508. But having my sim-saved messsages mixed in my conversations is annoying! I wish there was a fix for that somehow...

I love the convesations view.but can't uses it now.my elle got into the service center.the firmware was corrupted.my phone got frezzed,then i pull out the battery then put it back again.when i switch it back to on,the signal was gone,my messages was gone,all of my games n apps too.some menu was inaccesible.i just notice i gain some free space on my phone memory.from 80+mb free become 90+mb free.ugh . . . My phone got corrupted.
Btw,how much messages can be stored in my T707.for my z610i,it just got 1000 for sms storage.

could we possibly make it using HOOK's? i'm looking at different firmware, and i remember seeing conversation view on a vodafone firmware for w910 once... so i'm sure its somewhere in the customization!

No it has to be in the firmware, but needs activating by the customization.

and how can I change the text size? It's too big, and so with no utility as you can't read the entire message...

maybe changing fontsize to zero?

And also, I previously already placed customize.xml onto my phone which allowed me to use flash themes.
Will putting this second customise.xml override and still alow me to use the flash themes which were blocked by my operator?

Also, if it does work, will I be able to remove it and still alow for me to use flash themes? Im worried that it may lag like some of you guys are saying
