The first thing you have to do is to get some sort of 3,5mm jack. i've used one from a small portable radio but u can use most types.

Second thing is to remove the housing around the microphone.
the easiest way is to use a knife.
Now u have something like this

Now take a knife and make a cut trough here.
be careful so u dont cut the wires.
then take out the small cord trough the hole.

after u have done that, u will have something like this.

then cut the cord right below the earpiece.
and make the longer cord evenly long with the shorter one.

Now u can put together the mic housing, with a bit of pickin u can get the cord to go in between the parts.

then u need to carefully take out the green and blue wires from the rubber cover.
and then separate the green and the blue one.

after that u solder the wires to the 3,5 mm plug.

make sure that it is green/blue, blue/green

After that seal it up with tape or something else.
Enjoy! Hope it works out for u guys! tongue.gif

When I did mine I just used a male-to-female (extension) 3.5mm jack cable, so it was lighter than the way you've done it. I think you might find that it's too heavy and your headphones fall out your ears as you're walking.

Something like this:

.... or for approx. 6 bucks, you can get this on eBay:

Does that fit the old style connector?
and does it have a mic on it? thumbsup.gif

I might order one of those adapters off of ebay, I was guna make my own but for the cost of it + the fact that in making my own I wouold have to destroy my perfectly good headset...

I am making one now, I bought a broken pair of headphones from a mate for £2 so I can get the connector off of that and I bought a 3.55 socket from maplins (A electronics components shop) for £1.

Good luck mate.! smile.gif
Try using such a light 3,5mm connector as possible, so the earphones dont fall out of your ears 24-7. tongue.gif

Yeah, i think i'm going with the cheap ebay option, infact i'm going to start selling them in my country on the country's most popular auction website (not-ebay) =)

I have this. Very easy to find here, most shop sell this one and for old type of connector. Also for Nokia, Motorola, Samsung and etc.

I have another one similar to this, but not for audio. It use to convert Nokia charger to SE fastport charger. Just make sure Nokia charger output is 3.7V.

Still the same. When I open the connector, I saw the the cable using the same as branded cable.
Even if using different cable, I don't see there downgraded sound quality because the cable too short.

Just did mine.The quality is getting worst.Looks like the 3.5mm adapter must be a high quality also.

Hello there. how about my 4-pin DCU-60 data cable for k610i? how can i use/mod it as a 3.5mm adapter? can u give me the HOW TOs?
thanks in advance

<TheMachine>
@iamsinned06
you can use that, but you need to change some pins
cause the ones that are already used for data transfer, are not the same as "audio-transfer" ones
iamsinned06
