hi guys........and yes I guess i'm a noobie..............havnt got a clue.

I've been surfin this forum for a couple of weeks now.........really awsome stuff!...but it all means nothing to me for the moment, so I need some advice/help??..........please just point me in the right direction....

I have a Sony-Ericsson K000i (Orange branded,unlocked, on O2 now)........must admit, a brill little phone (till I got my hands on it).

anyway, long story short, I came across the Sony Ericsson Update Service Site, in an attempt to find out a little more on the phone, and I downloaded their "update software", and upon following their instructions saying there was an update available........I hit the Update button.....................

The phone still works ok, but my menu's have all changed eg mainscreen where onthe bottom left you have calls and on the right you have "Oboxlive", and if you click on that or any of the two icons in the main menu "TV" or "Music".......it will connect online to an Arabic web-page??........the screensaver has the Orange Logo surrounded by Arabic writing?

all other functions are the same, I mean my contacts are there, and I can make and recieve calls?

Any ideas?
I contacted Sony-ericsson about it and as this phone is "out of insurance" it'l probably cost me an arm and a leg to sort, and all they will say is "we will get some of our dedicated engineers to look at it", and no explanation as to what may have happened.
They did hint that the phone may have been purchaced overseas! (yet I bought it in an Orange shop In Edinburgh......

Thanks guys and once again,
Awsome forum,
Dave

Full-flash your phone with JDFlasher (since SEUS probably updated it to CID53) using Generic FW. Full-flashing means both a main (.mbn file) and a FS image (.fbn), plus a custpack.

Note that by doing so, all your settings, contacts, messages,... will be deleted. In other words: make sure you make a back-up!

It is, but it won't get you rid of the junk currently on your phone tongue.gif. If your phone is patch unlocked, then yes it will become locked again. How to find out? Ask where you got it done, and if you just bought it unlocked in the shop, it's real unlocked, not patch, meaning you can flash and still have an unlocked phone.
Search for a tutorial on how to use JDFlasher wink.gif

Many thanks for your help corman.............the phone was unlocked by a friend using "D-ultimate unlocker" of something like that?,
(this was done after SEUS did their stuff blink.gif ).

well,I suppose it is unlocked, and I can send and recieve calls n texts although surfin is a pain (I could always learn Arabic I suppose laugh.gif ),

I just dont feel confident enough to attempt what you guys do with these phones! cool.gif
