In the course of trying to use SEToolLite to flash the firmware of my CID52 W610, I've somehow managed to delete the unlock codes of my phone so that it no longer accepts my sim card. The unlock codes didn't come with the phone so I contacted the shop that sold it to me and they were unable to provide the codes as it was an import from Hong Kong (I suspect that the phone was using a patch to override the locks). In my desperation I then tried to update the firmware. Unsurprisingly this didn't unlock the phone although it did update the firmware to CID53 ohmy.gif

I understand the procedure for using JDFlasher to update CID53 phones however, as far as I can tell, JDFlasher can't be used to patch locked CID53 phones. Does anyone know if it is possible to patch a locked CID53 phone? Before my phone was locked I used SEToolLite to backup the GDFS, however this was when I had the CID52 firmware installed. Besides, I don't think that SEToolLite can restore the GDFS of CID53 phones.

Thanks for any help.

There is a possibility to patch CID53, search for Any CID on this forum smile.gif.

Thanks for the reply. The problem with using AnyCID is that you need to run the 'executor' app in order to enable the quick access patch. As I am locked out of the phone, it is impossible for me do this step ohmy.gif (or am I mistaken?).

Since it is locked to a specific network, try using a SIM card of the network it's locked to. Ask your friends to borrow theirs for a sec and with a correct SIM, run the executor app wink.gif

Edit: oops, forgot you had a Hongkong phone... Hmm, try a real unlock, but this will cost you some money though.

Thanks again. Is there a way to determine the network provider that my phone is locked to?

Try to identify it in SETool.
