Full Version: Problem Flashing K800i After Updating Via Se Website.
SE-NSE Forums > SE Firmware > Newbie Forum
Seb Meikle
I unlocked my SE K800i from the 3 network successfully. I then install the SE software and update tools and updated the phones software. Now it has locked the phone again and I am getting errors in XS++ when I try to do the unlock process.

Here is the error log:

I did a back up of my GDFS and I tried to restore it, I also get errors when doing this.

What has SE done to my phone!? I assume it's something to do with the fact it says "Sorry, your phone is NOT SUPPORTED". But why would it be saying this now?
Corman
Because you updated with SEUS. This turns your phone's CID into 53, while XS++ only supports till 52. JDFlasher, a plug-in for FAR Manager supports CID53 though.
Seb Meikle
Ah ok. I've downloaded the JD Flasher program and followed the guide on this site. But it doesn't seem to detect the phone when it asks me to connect. When I first tried it did find the phone but I got an error, I would post what the error message was but I wont even find the phone now.

Is there a way I can format the phone and start fresh with a lower CID?
Corman
Yes, but you have to pay for that (around 20 euros).
Seb Meikle
Hmm, where can this be done? I wouldn't mind paying that as I really like this phone. I would rather spend 20 sorting this one other than paying for another one.
Corman
But you can easily use JDFlasher blink.gif

If you use Linux, I suggest you use XS++ 4.1, this version supports CID53
Seb Meikle
Ok, I just tried using JD Flasher again and when I connect the phone I get the error message:

OpenPlugin(connecttophone(getcid(cant find device info in xml [53red])))

Help!
Corman
Are you sure you have the CID53 files?
Seb Meikle
The guide I am following is telling me to place "K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED53.mbn" in "..\FarManager\Plugins\jdflasher\2020_52". Is that the CID file?
Corman
That is your Main Firmware. If you don't have it, download it from www.iprotebe.cz (registration is needed)
Seb Meikle
Is the file I need...

k800_r1kg001_SIM_LOCK.vkp ?

I searched for cid files on that website and navigated to K800 patch files.
Corman
You need this file wink.gif
Seb Meikle
Nice one, I will try that now.

I put that file through the qamaker to create the vkp file and Im still getting the same error. Am I doing something wrong?
Corman
No problem smile.gif. Could you post a link to the tutorial you are following, I'll have a look at it then smile.gif?
Seb Meikle
Sure, this is the tutorial I'm following:

Corman
Based on your first post, I'd say you need to patch unlock your CID53 K800. Follow these tutorials to do so: How to patch CID53 (guide is for W580, but K800 uses the same procedures, just the W580 files need to be replaced with K800's smile.gif) & this one

Replace with test6 plus all the add-ons. Youve downloaded an old version
Seb Meikle
I'm confused at the first step of that tutorial, it says copy the qa2020.xml script to the JD-flasher/Script Directory... what qa2020.xml script?

I was just thinking that. Where can I download the lastest version?

Is this it? http://www.farmanager.com/

Research and develpoment forum, in a topic alled JD flasher.

You dont need to uninstall FAR, just delete the JD flasher plugin then extract the latest version into its place
Seb Meikle
Ok great, all seems to be working... await more questions... haha. Thanks for you help so far guys.
Seb Meikle
I followed this tutorial http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=23228 and copied the K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED53.mbn file to tpa/preset/custom on my phone. The phone is still locked? I'm sure there's more to this? What have I done wrong or missed?

That tutorial doesnt appear to be an unlocking tutorial. Its just a general usage tutorial teaching you to flash with JD Flasher, i.e. replace the firmware file. To unlock you need to generate an unlocking patch and patch your phone with it. You need a program called something like simox' autopatcher (not sure if thats the exact name, search the forums for something like that) which will take your firmware file and generate an unlock patch, which, when applied, will unlock it. For help patching try here : Advanced JD Flasher usage tutorial Hope that helps.
Seb Meikle
OK, I've patched K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED53.mbn with qamaker which created quick_access_K800_R8BF003.vkp.

When I run FAR Manager and connect the phone it says to enter bflash and not oflash. They only options I have is oflash and ofs.

What's happened?
Seb Meikle
Ok, I manager to do the flash part... I think. I just went into oflash and copied K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED53.mbn and it appeared to flash the phone.

The problem I'm having now is that I can't apply the patch. I select quick_access_K800_R8BF003.vkp and press F5 to copy it, I then click copy. But when I get the window that asks me if I want to apply the patch the option to APPLY is grayed out and I can only Cancel the operation.

Didnt you read the unlocking CID53 tut? You need the ANYCID patching method
Seb Meikle
Ah ok, where else can I download the AnyCID.zip from? The download link on this forum is dead. I've tried searching google with no luck and when I do find it my ISP blocks it for some stupid reason. Any chance you could attach it to this thread for me so I can download it from here?
cchaos
Oh really? Thats REALLY funny. Cos its actually ADDED to a post.
