Hi
I have an Optus W910i which i would like to debrand.
I found a tutorial on the internet and i was wondering if it would work.
http://www.akshayy.com/sonyericsson/tutori...ericsson-phone/

(i think this one is the same) http://www.myforum.lasyk.net/showthread.ph...2778&page=1

Some stuff that looked important from the software info screen:
R1FA030
prg12009135_CHINA_S
H R1FA030

Customisation
1217-2799 R2A
1200-5451 R1FA030
APAC-ANZ

Thankyou in advance,
teh1337

Plus i was wondering if there is anyway i can save the Optus branded firmware just in case in need to give it in for servicing.

-I have posted this before but with i got no answers-

I am with Optus Australia and have successfully debranded my W910i.

The links you have mentioned are incomplete so I can't tell you if they, specifically, will work.

Download A2Uploader by The_Laser to access and backup your files.

You can debrand using a script file called Customize_upgrade.xml which you must create and then upload to your phone using A2Uploader. When you switch your phone on again it will modify your Customize.xml file.

Thankyou so much burnah! I have been waiting for a reply for a while. A reply from someone on optus is even better!
Here is the link again: http://snipr.com/clzo4

So i understand most of it except choosing a CDF, there is a list of them and i think i should choose a APAC-ANZ one as thats what my phone came with. The only problem is that theses 2 of them!
Here they are:
CDF1201-0102 APAC-ANZ GENERIC APAC-ANZ
CDF1201-0176 APAC-ANZ GENERIC APAC-ANZ

Which one should i use?

Plus could you describe how i can save the Optus firmware and then how i would put it back on?
Thanyou so much!

No worries.

I only have internet access at work at the moment so can't help right now, but I will gladly help you debrand your phone.

I really don't like the fact that we pay good money for a piece of electronics and are then restricted as to how we use it.

I will compile a tutorial at home over the next few days and get all the files you'll need together, then let you know here when we're ready to roll.

Hi again. I followed the instructions from the above link and it worked!
Sorry if i have wasted your time. But thankyou. The thing i would like to know is how to restore the optus branding.
I think all i have to do is make a xml file with 1217-2799 as the CDF and it'll restore the branding.

Thankyou again,
`teh1337

Ps. Are you from Perth? So am i!
P.s.s i used the CDF1201-0176 APAC-ANZ GENERIC APAC-ANZ Cdf.

Here is my guide for De-Branding Optus W910i's for anyone who wants to:
Remember to backup your stuff on the phone (things on memory stick are fine)

1. Install A2 Uploader from http://snipr.com/filez
2. Install ggsetup-2.2.0.1.exe from A2Upoader.zip
3. Install SEUS from http://snipr.com/teh1337seus
4. Get customize_upgrade.xml from http://snipr.com/filez
3. Open A2 Uploader and click on File System tool.
4. Hold 2 & 5 and then plug your phone in
5. Navigate to tpa/preset/custom and drag the customize_upgrade.xml file in.
6. Disconnect your phone and turn it on.
7. Wait for the "please wait" Dialog to disappear and turn off your phone.
8. Open SEUS and follow instructions to update.
9. When Complete turn on phone. The Please wait dialog goes away after about 1min.
10. Done. Say bye to Optus.

Nice work teh1337!
Happy for you.
Always feels more rewarding when you suss it yourself and a risk pays off, hey.
Time to enjoy some flash menus.

Same CDA I used as it turns out.

To rebrand, follow the same procedure with 1217-2799 as you stated.

Yeah, in Perth, Tuart Hill.
Managed to find some free wireless access this arvy.

Have you found that your theme resets to Walkman every time you switch off and then on again?

Yeah, i'm in Dalkeith.
I found that the theme reset when i was branded with optus but so far it hasnt happened.
Does it reset every time you restart or just occasionally. (I hardly turn my phone off)

Thanks again

EDIT: I found that it resets to Walkman if you connect the phone to your computer via Mass Storage mode.

Yes, just make sure you use a europe CDA rating (which can be found at top sony, or use an application that generates the customize_upgrade for you)
