i've got w580i and i was downloading walkman skins when XS++ 3.1 was ended before i click shutdown fsx ...
i opened my phone and found no skins
even the original skins.... i found just "off"

Pls help me how can i fix it

This happened to my W580i a few days ago.
you know where you install your walkman skins in /tpa/system/multimedia/mp/skin or something like that you might find a settings.bin file delete that exit the program and it should be fixed

i also saw that settings.bin in /tpa/system/multimedia/mp/skin

1. can i safely delete that file?

2. i make a folder in /tpa/system/multimedia/mp/skin
and xs++ said shutdown and reconnect the phone. (and did that)

3. then after that i saw my folder and uploaded there my mplayer skin of choice. (8 files to be exact)

4. i restart my phone and now i saw my MPlayer skin in there.

5. is there a way to upload those files the easy way, not doing number 2. coz when i upload the whole folder of my chosen skin it
does not apply in my phone. its a long process doing number 2 and number 3.

so can i safely delete this settings.bin?

yess you can i did it and it fixed the bug

so can i now upload the whole skin folder to /tpa/system/multimedia/mp/skin? after deleting that file?

The off-only bug is when you can't choose any other skin but off. Deleting settings.bin solves it

well say if you already have that folder with the skins and stuff in you can just delete that file and leave it at that

i deleted it and uploaded those skins.

but when i reconnect the phone to xs++,
unfortunately, it was there again.

Hello mate,i dont know if this helps as they are different models,but in my SE,w300i,i used far manager,to enter phone file system,navigated to,ofs>tpa>system>multimedia>mp,in this last folder,was settings.xml and now_playing.pml.I left both these in place and copied media player skin of my choice,and did not have a problem.If i want to get rid of the media player skin,for a different one,i just delete the files i put in,leaving the original two alone.This is what i did in mine,hope it helps a little.I have used xs++ for SE,k810i to upload various things and they are both good progs.

That's skinning Walkman 1, Walkman 2 is different
