hi byebye.gif

i hope i dnt sound like to much of an idiot i had a motorola v360 before and modding that was simple.

now i have a w660i db2020 red cid 53 region europe_2 firmware vers. R8BB001 Erom:R3A022 and its a bit difficult.

ive managed to get the .swf menus working and i just wanna say thanks to u guys here without u guys it wouldnt have been possible but i cant seem to get the standby .swf working.

i put it in the right place. tba/---/---/---/standby/ flash but still either a blank screen comes up or some other wallpaper.
can someone help he with that pls. confused.gif
is there something i have to do to the phone before it will work. i dont think its branded coz it starts up normal with no service provider stuff.

also how do u get the track info on the normal desktop.

on my motorola there was this thing called a monsterpack which is a full pimped out firmware of the phone is there such a thing for my w660. and how would i do it. confused.gif

how do i backup my phone before i do something and mess it up completely?
and ive read about these elfs and elfpacks and patches.
wat are they and what would it do for my phone and how do i put them on my phone. shy.gif

'wat is the best cam driver and sound driver for my phone, or what do u guys suggest i should us because my camera gives of a yellow type lighting no matter wat i do and the sound has too much treble and to little bass through the loudspeaker. Through the earphones is ok.

o and what is GDFS, and MAIN, and all these different parts of firmware newhere.gif

and lastly i downloaded Macromedia flash 8 and its lyk another language i wanna make flash menus and standbys too.

o and i have followed some links but some of them only make half sense to me maybe i dnt have the right link.

well, you need themes creator (search on se-nse), and the standby name then you can put the standy's in the theme.

MAIN: has all codecs and images that can not be deleted, and functions of the phone
FS: has flash menus, fonts, sound drivers, camdriver, display driver, etc etc
GDFS: contains IMEI, and contacts AFAIK
EROM: is that part that connects the phone to PC, when flashing operations are done to it.

Hope it solved your confusion about firmware parts.

ELF tutorials are enough over here
Patches tutorials, are enough also

Camdriver/sounddriver: depends on taste, so try everything out.

Cheers!
Flash menus and other tutorials here.

GDFS: contains IMEI, and contacts AFAIK

GDFS does not contain conacts: it contains the security values of the phone as far as Im aware and something to do with the IMEI number (hence why its unique to each phone)

thakns alot much appreciated now i know wats up.

with the sound drivers i noticed there ae alot of filles do i delete everything that is on the phone and put the new
pack in or do i just put the new pack in and over write the files that are already there. and wat about the excess files.

and is there a generic w660 sound driver in case i want to revert back.

thanks in advance byebye.gif

To replace use FAR with the JD flasher plugin - you can just overwrite the files, and the "excess files" are all needed since they will be modified as well

To revert back: just extract your FS, then you can just upload all files that you chose to replace with in the same manner
