Full Version: Firmware Flash M600i - A Bit Lost

I'd like to flash the firmware in my branded m600i. The phone will be used in Australia, and is a "3 Australia" phone.
I've been trying to follow both the XS++ guide and the sticky re: "finding firmware" in the 'newbie forum'.

On the SE-USERS forum I've found the following file under 'firmware':
M600_R6A15_Trade_Australia_CDA162016-54_R7A01.rar

which contains the following files:
1_CXC1327363_1_SEMC_CS_LOADER
ACPU_SW_R6A16R_ROLF
BASELINE_633_91_R27A03_CXC162071_R6A16_ROF
BT_SW_R3A_RED49.babe
CCPU_Signaling_SW_R9F011_prgCXC162037_R6A15_RED49.babe

EPOC2
EPOC_Trade_Australia

According to the XS++ tute I'm looking for a .mbn and .fbn file? for 'Main' and 'Filesystem' firmwares? But, obviously, those files arent included there... where am I going wrong?

Also, whilst this is the only 'firmware' (if that IS what it is) I've been able to find for the M600 with "Australia" in the name, it does have "Trade" where most others are "Generic" is this a problem? does it mean anything important?

Some info from XS++ :

ok.. looking into this a little more I find that the M600 cannot be "flashed" as such, but you can use either XS++ or kulankendi to change the CDA so that SEUS will update (and debrand) the phone.

As we currently stand, I've run one of the scripts in XS++ which I thought would then allow SEUS to do this, however SEUS is telling me "no updates are available".. my XS++ log shows a single CDA entry:
16:58:21| CDA: CDA162011/1 R6A13
which is exactly what it should be (apparently) for SEUS to update it..

However, looking at the phone itself ( More > Status ) there are 2 CDA entries:
CDA 162011/1 R6A13
CDA 162016/37 R5A01

So the question is.. how can I get rid of that second CDA entry? so that SEUS will read the CDA as CDA162011/1 only.

Success!! Finally, after only, oh... say 8 or 9 hours all up - I've debranded my m600i .. The methods above proved fruitless, I couldnt get the new (generic) CDA in, AND get the old one out.

I did however find an alternate method, so I used XS++ to reinstall my original backup, then followed the instructions here...

It all went according to plan, although I did get a bit worried during the last SEUS flash when it identified the phone as an "optus australia" - but shortly afterwards I realised thats whats supposed to happen!
