heyy. im just about to kick my comp so freaking hard until i hear the fans go crackle pop!! and watch the processor fry !

last time i tried using XS++ with my now obliterated w850i. all that happened was: my computer froze. i could only move the mouse and do nothing else. no keyboard, no mouse, nothing! just reset the computer was all i could do.

i got a w910i recently and i want to debrand/rebrand>flash menu it with a2uploader.

BUT THE SAME THING HAPPENS AND MY COMPUTER FREEZES!? someone help PLEASE, ive disabled my anti virus, ive installed net framework 2.0 and installed GG's usb drivers!! what else do i need to do?? is it because im runniing SP3 on XP home? is it because of SP3? or is it because this 5yr old 512mb ram celeron D crap is too aged to handle such processes?

I NEED HELP AND QUICK. ITS MAKING ME FURIOUS! GRRRR

one, calm down, just a computer and a cell phone.
two it could VERY much so be ur shitty pc. let me give u an example, my athlon 4000 @ 2.4 (single core) ghz with 2gb ram, on xp sp3 32bit, the cpu spikes up to the full 100% load. its just how the app works. i cant use the a2uploader on my intel C2Q cuz they dont have 64 bit flash drivers sad.gif, but the point is, on my C2Q rig there is hardly any cpu usage.

Relax dude, and I agree, it could be due to the heavy CPU load, try a faster computer.

dayumm. time for a new comp >< not gonna happen anytime soon though..

damn it!: so if our next rig is a c2q. it wont work either?

i know its just a phone and a computer, thats not why im angry though. its because this comp is unbelievably slow!! its like waiting for dial up to load a video.. see what happens.

it will work on an intel C2Q, just keep Windows in 32 bit, so dont use a 64 bit OS, which is what i use on my main rig. the a2uploader app works, but i cant browse my phone, cuz the drivers are flash drivers, they arent available in 64bit, so i cant even update my k850 through SEUS, on this pc, hence it being 64bit smile.gif
sew850i
aha!! so it CAN be a c2q BUT the OS MUST be 32-bit. it can be 32-bit vista right? a2uploader and such programs are compatible??
m82a1
yes....
WizaJ
Quite so, but I if XP drivers are available for your rig, I highly recommend it.
sew850i
so you recommend stay with XP ehh?? i was planning to go 4gb RAM.. but doesnt XP only support 3gb? or is that only what system properties displays to you yet 4gb ram is actually in use??

I highly doubt its the pc to be honest - Ive had XS++ and setool2lite working fine on a 1.1ghz processor with XP sp2 on only 64mb RAM

I do however think its something to do with SP3: a lot of users here Ive noticed are having major problems with installing the flash drivers

If possible, I would revert back to XP SP2: I dont kow what SP3 contains thats extra, but surely its not worth gaining if you cant even flash your phone

Oh and my current pc is an AMD athlon 1.4Ghz with 1Gb RAM and finds XS++, setool2lite, A2 uploader and FAR with the JD flasher plugin fine smile.gif (CPU goes 100% usage but thast only when I do something like change the acoustics in one go)

I am using windows xp sp3 aswell with all the updates and having the same problem, It's a 100% software related problem i tested it, i got two harddrives since i was having the same problem as you with, i installed windows xp sp3 on the second harddrive i updated it aswell but i manually selected the updates and everything works fine excatly the same OS & PC but working 100% fine, i think the media updates for sp3 caused the problem i even tryed unistalling them but the problem remains, so microsoft screwed it up.

i there

I'm having th same problem except i have windows XP SP2, i never installed SP3 because i heard it not to go well with a lot of periferal drivers, anyway the problem remains when i run a2uploader and connect the phone the PC frezze's and i have to it the reset button i'm running a Pentium D 3.00 ghz(crappy i know) 2gb ram. Some help would be nice cause i realy want to debrand my w910i. I work at vodafone and you guy's don't have a clue how many mobile phones (specialy Nokia )phones that have software problems due to vodafone's firmwire intrusion e should not be alowed.

thanx

That sounds more like its trying to search for something rather than your pc is crashing. Try the following:

Right click my computer, select properties. Now go to the hardware tab and open device manager

Take sim out, take memory card out, and reinsert the battery, do not turn on, do not open anything else on the pc (including XS++)

Connect your phone to the USB cable holding 'c'

See if windows detects a sony ericsson USB flash device (watch the USB ports via connection if possible ie view devices by connection)

If it dont, and shows new hardware found or a new device with a question mark beside it, right click on the new hardware, and select update driver, and use the drivers I put above this post. Say continue installion at the poopup window, then youre ready

As for vodafone: yes I would believe it lol.gif do a quick search on how many phones reboot here with vodafone firmware on it (esp the w910)
