Hey all! I currently have a white w810i r4ea031 (china) ... my friend put it on china.. but yeah im gonna have it changed back to america soon.
Im trying to get bunch of modifications on my phone but theyre just too much all over the place.
like.. patches, elves, drivers etc..
I'll list some of them down here:
1: In standby mode: battery %, bigger clock
2: Themes: flash themes, ability for flash backgrounds, a thread where i can find bunch of these themes.. like one with a huge clock on it would be great.
3: I wanna know how to remove the operator name and add whatever I want with those cool fonts ( http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/4166/scr211125xt4.png ) and pretty much change font everywhere.
4: I want to have a smaller font when i check my font status so it fits all in one page without having to scroll.
5: (Do lighteffects work on w810's? I heard they dont)
6: Im looking for the best acoustic/camera drivers.
7: change the look of my media player
8: change some of the graphics
9: be able to change the brightness down to 10%
And some tutorials to follow all these..
I already found a few patches that i found interesting in the w810 patches thread.

To elf you must patch an elf pack and an elf lib (explained better by thugz_mafia's tut on elf installation in the tut forum)
Slight mistake on my first reply: its defo not desktop (Im sorry) its standby
Bookmanger is another elf: its up to you whether you use it or not, but it can turn off elves (not that it turns my elves off - logo changer, desktop, file manager, keyCode,Screenshooter and sudoku)
I would post my elves and patches but Ive wiped them off my computer (thats a diffferent matter, but I had about 50 elves on my pc)
But I seem to recall that I uploaded a patches pack (inc sysgfx) (just before I wiped all my phone stuff off my pc) onto wallys guide: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtop...5779&st=240

EDIT: I cant do it Im affraid, or at least not right now. Im currently running ubuntu and it doesnt contain a decent uncompressor for RAR files

I just downloaded the w810 elfpack with elfpack/lib/dyn_const.lib

i got all the other patches i want
i got both sarmad and i chose another acoustic driver.. knet one...
Create in your other folder (in phone memory) a folder called gfx
When you have patched that to your phone, upload the GFX images you want to replace to this folder (it can be done via file transfer mode as well) (note: not for splash screen, startup or shutdown)
Just make sure that the images you upload to the phone are in a PNG format ie e***.png

i just bought off ebay 2 housings.. one red w810 and one red k750
i wanted to make my phone red (holiday spirit
) and it looks nice and i wanted the k750 back.
Ive seen many people do it and it looks real nice
I have difficulty iwht text tutorials and the only good video tutorial i found was on youtube and it was in chinese... we COULD figure just by looking at the images but do I really have to take out all the hardware pieces and like.. theres some kind of small metal prong i dont know what that is but it all looks pretty meticulous.

Well, theres a tut that takes apart a k750 in the hardware modding section (but if the k750 is working, be extra careful not to break the camera switch on the k750)
And you dont need to take the whole phone apart just to take off the back cover: take the battery cover off on the w810. See those cross head screws? All you have to do is unscrew them, unclip the sides and top and its off. Pop the new cover on, rescrew the screws and enjoy its the same for the k750, but it tells you how to avoid breaking the switch

Ah to change it all you will need a t6 tork screwdriver

Hmm reading the w810 service manual, it says REMOVED SCREWS CANNOT BE REUSED for the t6 screws.. is that true? if so how do i put it back together?

Hi ive been reading the SE w810 service manual.
it says that the t6 screws cannot be reused is that correct?
what I want to do is just fully change the housing... because i currently have a white w810 and i ordered two housings one red w810 and one red k750. the w810 for most of it and k750 for the back.
I also bought a system connector that i will have to replace.
I see this is 3.20 on the guide.. do i really have to go through ALL those steps to get to the system connector?
and for the housing too.. do I HAVE to remove ALL those pieces to change the front?

I see this is 3.20 on the guide.. do i really have to go through ALL those steps to get to the system connector?
and for the housing too.. do I HAVE to remove ALL those pieces to change the front?

You can re-use the screws as often as you want. I'm not 100% clued up on the W810 (an not able to download the manual to have a look at the moment)
for just a front case swap AFAIK it is similar to the K750/W800, remove the rear screws, and pop it off - you do not need to mess with the internals of the handset unless you are going to change the main body of the housing.
I will have a look at the manual later to see if I need to change anything - lot of W810 users on here who maybe able to help before then.
*also think that the front housing must stay as W810 as the K750/W800 do not fit.

Seach for XS++ in R and D forum (3.1 for windows)
Usb drvers: download here, run the exe (it will extract the wanted drivers to your hard disk) then connect your phone with the sim out, memory stick out and with the battery in but phone turned off. It should find a smec flash (and should have a question mark around it). Tell windows where the files are the exe extracted and it should install them from that. Before that though backup contacts etc etc to pc using my phone explorer/pc suite
China to america: What main did you use? If you used a china main flash your phone to genric main r4ea031. I dont know what the difference is between america_1 or america_2 as I havent used them. The FS is r4ed001. Most people will say this dont match but this is the right fs version for the phone (see wally_dogs guide - link in my signature). What Ive talked about in this post assumes your phone is CID49 (erom colour) red

We need an xs++ log: that will tell us the CID colour etc

Well hardware wise, I just recieved my red w810 housing!! and it looks great, had some trouble.. screen wouldnt stay in place.. but then i fixed it.. its kind of.. not centered so great but its ok
but yeah.. i gotta change the firmware now ;D

Or you can use america_2 - Download here - US English - Brazilian Portuguese - Latin American Spanish
Use the matching america custom pack from XS++ 3.1 eg america_1 if you use the america1 one
Patching: Find setool2lite (complete with REST files: either 1.08 or 1.11 will do but I cannot stress how important it is to have the rest files, "dead phone" will ocur if you dont have the right rest files for it (though you can fix it by doing a reflash)
Use wally_dogs guide to help you

HARDWARE: I was wonderin if anybody knows if it is possible to change the keyboard light color? other phones have a basic lighter color so cellophane works fine but this shoots directly orange
Ive tried the sweet wrappers trick and it never worked.
I think the only way to change the light colour is by changing the leds themselves as far as Im aware - not reallly recommend for a newbie
