Hi there,
I don't have much of an idea of what I'm doing, except I don't want to break my phone and the i'd rather like to increase the sms inbox/outbox memory so it doesn't keep wanting me to delete messages all the time.
I have a SE W550i which i don't use as an mp3 player any more so it has plenty of free memory and I'd don't see why it can only hold about 200 texts... seams like a waste.
So could anyone help me giving me the easiest way of doing this? Or even say if its possible. I read about it somewhere, but it was just a tutorial for flashing the phone.
Thanks for you time,
Alex
All SMS is saved in phone memory.
If your phone memory is very small then could save a few sms.
i have 53mb free in phone and 400mb m2 stick and i cant store more than 20 sms, i did reflash, still problem, wtf?

wtf? You're talking about SIM card storage? SIM cards can only store 20 messages max.
Yeah.
My SIM save more than 200.
But to save in memory phone dont need flash it.
But you can try.

a SIM saving 200?? wow, whos your service provider??? my o2 uk sim saves 20.
and with regards to the bigger inbox, its also a bit of a curse, given the more you have in it the more the phone slows down when you open the inbox! lol, its a vicious cycle, cos its slow to delete txts when you want to clean out the inbox!
Thanks for you replies...
Even if the phone could hold 400 in would be better. Would that slow the phone down much?
I know the K8 something series can hold something like a 1000...
Would it be a hard thing to do just to experiment?
And just to clarify I'm not talking about SIM storage.
We understood areku.

@Docmagoo.
My service provider is in Brazil.
Name's VIVO.
Yeah sorry, just seamed like a few people didn't.

download SESM and creat a script for setool
It doesn't work either with 1000 sms patch. k810i r8ba024
Hmm? Your phone is bugged, try reflashing or something.
My SIM can hold max 20
My phone (with patch) can hold 4000. (I can blast it to 10000, but I don't want to wait 15 seconds to load my inbox.

)
Yea, it only slows down when opening Inbox/Sent messages and that sort, not the whole phone.
To me saved with patch 8.000 dont 10000.
Has anyone tried this patch with the w550i?
If I was to try it, how likely would it be that it works and what would maybe happen if it didnt? Would prefer not to have to flash my phone.
Could anyone link me to this patch so I can see it?
Thanks again =]
Yeah.
See the Customization Firmware thread ans search the W550 thread.
ok.. will have a look, though it looks like i'm going to have to reflash this thing or something. I connected it to SeTool lite and clicked on read GDFS and it started doing something. The it sort of stoped, so I tried identify which it did. Then I tried reding again and it did the same sort of thing, just stopped. So I clickon identify again for some reaspon... and it came up with some thing saying "fatal"... and now I cant switch the phone on.
Try another Setool2lite version.
I think this is a small error with Setool.
See your DCU-60 too, maybe the connectors are pushed.
Alright i'll give that a go.
Tried getting SeTool2 instead of SeTool2 lite, but it just wouldnt run on my pc =S
i reflashed, i aplied 4000 sms patch, and it says memory full at about 20. :|
Maybe the patch dont work.
anyone with k810i r8ba024 can tell me if for them work patch?
See the topic about Patches for K800/K810.
my W830 only holds 3000 messages although i set the patch for 10000 messages

but anyone got this patch for W810?
