I have a W950i phone. Currently, the firmware version is R9G007, which is the version for my phone's CDA which is CDA162014/8 R6D22.

But the problem with this version of firmware R9G007 is that it has a space problem when keying the words from the keypad during sms. When I type a word and press the '#' key for a space, it wouldn't work and it won't have a space there. I need to tap the screen once or select the word from the suggested word list first then press the '#' key for a space.

This is quite unfriendly but I was told that the R9G001 version which is the Generic World 1 version of the firmware will not have this problem. I looked around and found out that the only way to get to this R9G001 version is to flash my phone with XS++.

Now, the problem is, apparently, the R9G001 is not the firmware version for my phone's CDA version which ends with a '8'(CDA162014/8 R6D22). Would it brick my phone is I go on to flash it?

And how do I go about doing this to change the firmware to the Generic World 1 verison? I have read the XS++ tutorial thread but still not sure how I can get the Generic World 1 firmware for my phone's model.

Please pardon me as this is the first time I am doing this.
Thanks a lot.
