THE THREAD SHOULD READ K800i ...NOT K880i

Hi, i've been over at SE lifestyle to find out how to unlock my K800i

I followed tuts but keep getting CONFIG ERROR.

When i turn on the phone, the first message is NORMAL MODE or FLIGHT mode. I cannot select NORMAL, because the 4 way toggle button does not work anymore. So then i just press SELECT and thats when i get the CONFIG ERROR.

I have installed a USB driver.

On first connection with XS++ i was asked if i wanted to upgrade to CID 52 from CID 49 ...i said YES

Then with XS++ i flashed while following a video turorial

i have flashed with K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn

i have flashed with K800_R8BF003_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52.fbn

i have flashed with K800i_CDA102568_2_R6A_Generic_Central_Europe

I have tried 3 times now, and get same error. Should i try completely different MAIN , FS, CDA etc ??

Your custpack probably has a problem.

Try using one of them from here.

Thanks - tried one of those and still the same error. Cant get past the NORMAL or FLIGHT mode because the toggle button no longer works to select NORMAL.

I can press select, but then up comes CONFIG ERROR. I can ring the phone from another phone and this incoming call works.

Are you sure you're uploading in the correct folder?

Use the classic method - FSX and navigate.

Did you tick on the box customize/finalize ...

Yes - had custom pack folder with CDA unzipped and TPA inserted in folder along with MAIN and FS files

I have only just learned how to use XS++ ...and i havent even heard of FSX and NAVIGATE

I used a Video Tutorial of XS++ and followed the instructions. There was NO custom/finalize to tick as far as i know

the build in custompacks of XS++ may have some bugs in the version u have..try with setool2lite, dont forget that setool2lite doesnt have buildin custompacks,so u need to download one

For custom pack, do you mean a CDA file ? XS++ doesn thave custom pack either. I downloaded CDA from 4 shared and make new folder called ' Custom Pack '

That's why I said try those from my site. Look for the one with the same region as your FS!

I think this is coming to end, as i have been trying to unlock this phone for 3 days. I have had to learn stuff that i never knew before, like XS++ and files and mains and FS and CDA's etc etc... its just too dam complicated

Maybe i was using the wrong tool ( XS++ ) perhaps i should haved used SeTool Lite or something, but no matter.

Loads of people seem to get errors on their phones, so i am no different there. Even the tutorials dont help. They seem easy, but they are not it seems.

Se lifestyle forums tried to help, but no joy there. I try here too, and still no joy. I've had replies saying download this, download that, now download this and now download that. Its beginning to feel like a game i can never win.

why dont u use setool2lite?

Tried it and failed to use it properly. Just cant get my head around it.

I've had enough now. This unlocking has taken over my life for 3 days, and i've got nowhere apart from ending up with a phone that doesnt work now.

Take note of attached screen shot: make your XS++ screen the same and you will be good to go and click on flash

WEll, i just gotta say a mighty big thanks to Phil for taking me thru the whole procedure on MSN. I have a working phone again, and unlocked, when i had just about given up on it. It just goes to show you shouldnt mess with things you dont understand.
