After reading a couple of debates on whether or not it is possible to use the middle chassis from a W810 on to a W800/K750, I decided to attempt it myself.
I found that it is possible...with a few minor modifications of course.

NOTE
Before you begin, I suggest you read the guides on how to take apart your W800/K750 before attempting the following.

Part 1

Compare and contrast

There are several differences between the Chassis of the W800/K750 compared to the W810.

1)The most obvious difference is the missing camera trigger switch mount on the black W810 middle chassis.

2)On the camera side of the middle chassis, note the differences in mounting points. The W810 has a trench which is higher than the W800/K750. Also there is a sort of part for the back cover to clip on for the W810 but none on the W800/k750 middle chassis.

3)On the front side of the chassis, at the top, there is a clip point on the W800/K750 chassis which is not found on the W810 chassis.

These are the three differences that is preventing a direct swap.

Part 2

Making them fit

Now that you've identified the differences, you should be aware that the mounts on the back cover are different.

1) Comparison between the W810 and W800(in this case) back cover.

2)Now, shave off the mouting clip closest to the flash lense with a blade.

3)Next, make a trench for the clip on the W800 back cover with a blade or a tiny screwdriver (0.8 m/m) on the W810 middle chassis.

4)You would want to use your camera switch so we now have to make a mounting for the camera trigger switch. Use a piece of plastic (I cut off the round speaker portion of a damaged W800 chassis) with enough tickness to hold the camera trigger switch high enough for it to be activated.

5)Cut the piece of plastic to shape and glue it onto the chassis. You might want to make it follow certain points of the chassis so that there is more glued surface to the chassis thus making it more ridgid. I used hobby plastic bonding glue.

6)After testing it out, I found out that the W810 chassis was obstructing the camera switch on the back cover of the W800. I discovered that there was a part getting in the way and the camera lens cover couldn't close all the way. So, take a blade and shave it off a little. The green arrow points the direction of the camera switch when closing.

And you're all done!

Now that you know the differences in the mounting points, you can make the W810 back cover fit on to the W800 chassis if you wanted to. Of course, there is no camera switch but you can leave the switch in the open position. If you need to activate the camera, just hold on to the camera button (just like the W810) to activate it.

For the front covers, for a W800 front cover to a W810 chassis is fine (no modifications needed). But if you want to use a W810 front cover on a W800 chassis, you have to shave off that clip I pointed out in the first part seen in the third picture.

I hope this will help anyone interested in using W810 housing parts.

thanx for all the info man, has been very helpful.

was planning on using a w800 middle with a w810 back. Any idea if there is any differences between the fronts of the K750 and W810. Any idea what modding that needs

Can this guide be used for a k750i casing as well?

=/... I kinda smashed mine together and all the unneccessary clips and pieces broke off giving me a semi perfect fit LOL.

my mod is w800 middle plate on the w810. the problem i have is that at the front top where the w810 meets the middle w800, it just doesnt seem to be able to fit in. looks like the w800 is too big on the top of something.

just wondering about the w810i back case.

hoping if anyone that has removed the back case can confirm for me: does the camera hole lens part have any plastic/clear shielding (even though it has no hard cover). or is the actual physical lens exposed raw??

in otherwords if i change my w810i black case to a white w810i of the same type. would it replace any smudge/scratches on the lens part?

ocha:

the lens is just the lens. u won't get the scraches removed by replacing a back cover
ocha
thanks schumy7

that helps me decide on what i wanna do then.
mod on a k750i back cover.

cheers

Ok, so after an hour of opening my w810 to change the midplate, I'm stuck atm..
Seems the flash is connected to the camera lens and removing the ribbon frees the camera lens.
But how is the ribbon connected to the camera or *where" exactly so you can disconnect the two?
I'm confused as to where to pull the ribbon, is it the little square pcb(?) (green) or the black part attached to the ribbon?
I've pulled considerable force to test both but considering as I've never opened the cam before it may not pop out as smooth as it should but adding more force force may break the wrong choice..
So I'd appreciate any help from you guys..

My problem is that while removing the phone's board it got caught on the camera ribbon cable and ripped. So i ordered a new cable, i installed it and i have nothing still. I go to open the camera and it fails and goes back to the previous screen, i also have no light on my LED either. I've tried flashing the firmware and still nothing. So i don't know if there's a bad connection, if its a bad cable or what really. Any input would help alot.
