hello, im pretty new to this but i have read a lot of pages here about flashing etc.(yes i used even the search wink.gif )
i only want to change some layout things(remove operator logos and scrollbars)

according to this forum its pretty simple...

but not here :
i cant even use the sonyupdate tool.
i know back in dec 2006 i updated my phone without any problems so i dont understand whu it doesnt work now.

i found in the service info screen, the software info menu but it doesnt look like the versions you are talking about.
this is what i found, not sure if its the good info:

R1KG001
prgCXC1250210_generic_WI R1KG001
EROM: R3A011
prgCXC1250461_EROM_DB2020_WILMA_FOTA_SIMLOCK_FLAFLA_SIBLEY_SEMCUSB

this is what happens:
-after putting back the battery and pushing and holding c while connecting the usb cable nothing happens in the se update tool

- in xs++ same problem and this msg in the logfile:

19:31:38| TURN OFF PHONE!

19:31:38| Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW.

19:31:38| You have 30 seconds...

19:31:38|

19:32:08| Error: Cannot open phone communication port

19:32:10| Disconnected... Unplug the phone

19:32:25| Shutting down...

it doesnt matter if i hold down the c button for 2minutes it stil doesnt do anything.

tried to install the flashdrivers mentioned in some tutorial here, but doesnt work to, when i connect the usb-cable and pushing c, no popup shows with flash device...(like the screenshot provided in that tutorial)

i tried almost everything i could think of incl. trying another sim from a different operator but no effect.
uninstalled everything, re-installedinstalled it stepbystep and tried between steps to connect with my phone.

i can put music in my phone, getting pictures from phone to pc, without pc-suite, and also with the pcsuite.

i cant think what to do now, im out of options.
so pls can someone help me abit?

thanks,
weedo

Bet you didnt try this though:
Close any running programs
Right click on my computer, hardware tab. View, devices by connection.
Take battery, SIM and memory stick out
Reinsert battery (make sure it is charged!) DO NOT TURN ON
Hold 'c'

Device with a ? marked beside it is 9 times out of 10 what you want. Use the USB drivers you downloaded (if you did use search and found a tut to do it)

If it does show USB flash device then I will eat my hat lol.gif

Thats about the third time Ive had to give the same advice for the same problem. You sure you was using search? Matters not now

Anyway, least you can now connect your phone to XS++

If it asks you to script to CID52 do it: this means you can add patches and elves depending on the firmware

yes i did use the search, but there are so much results that i cant remember everything.
i found this methode but i didnt think on it when nessecary.

i did know that metode but i didnt know the faillure was caused by flashdrivers who werent installed, so thats why i posted.

according to XS its already an cid52, thank you smile.gif, but so far i dont have patch plans, i only want to remove my double operator logo so swapping layoutfile is enough i think. (with lots of thanks too: @rturo and Photographer )

i have found the original k800 layoutfiles here, so i can fiddle away with the layouts.

patching and elves are too advanced for me atm, didnt search for tuts, that will come in future
